It is sad to see Pietism rearing its ugly head in the WELS. Confessional Lutherans have a beautiful doctrine of Law and Gospel and objective means of grace. It is all about what God does for us in Word and Sacrament. The CORE exchanges this for self-help TED talks and rock concerts more concerned with emotional outcomes than the truth of scripture and the Lutheran confessions.

My wife and I visited The Core because we support Time of Grace Ministries and because we were in Appleton on a Sunday afternoon. The Core's contemporary approach to worship is accessible to those new to The Core and meaningful to regular attendees. Mike Novotny does an excellent job sharing a grace-centered message based on the Scriptures. Expect a warm welcome from members.

Best church in Wisconsin. No friendlier people than the ones you’ll find at the Core. I’ve never felt so welcome in a place of worship!

First time visit and I am so grateful to have found this church. God led me here! Pastor Mike was amazing, so well spoken, and I can appreciate his rawness and application of scripture during service. Everyone makes you feel so welcomed from the moment you step in the door. Highly recommend!

I was to this church only once, but I watch Mike's sermons on channel 26-1 Sunday mornings just after midnight. I went to the church that Sunday afternoon as I wanted to meet him in person, but he was away for a wedding I believe it was. His sermon I just watched now was on God speaking to us in so many different ways. I just wanted you to know how I witnessed God speaking to me through my two year old son one day while I was feeding him his lunch. It was sad, but He so prepared us for the near future. God indeed does speak to us in many ways. We just have to listen for it, comprehend, and accept it. We can't change the results.

Great looking place and worship music, but felt performance induced. I've seen several TV broadcasts of Time of Grace, and was impressed and moved. So, after hearing several encouragements from Ptr. Mike, I finally made it to service in person a week before Easter to see if this would be a good church to attend. However, not one person greeted me. Got mostly stares and blank looks even from those manning the lobby area. At least after service I got one smile from a lady on staff though. Don't like to speculate, but this church must not get many minority attendees as I could sense the strangeness of my presence there. Only saw one other minority in the whole place and she was a volunteer. I grew up Lutheran and was confirmed in the faith, so I was disappointed in the fact that they taught and practice communion in the Catholic manner here, believing the wine and bread physically transforms into the actual blood and body of Jesus. In confirmation I was taught the elements of communion were only symbolic and consumed in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Before this I thought the pastor was theologically sound, but this casts doubts on that. Thus, have not attended again. Did not feel welcomed or connected here. But, I do admire their attempt and outreach to downtown Appleton.

I listened recently to Pastor Mike Novotny give a sermon on the Devils tactics and putting on the armor of God! I thank God that he brought me, due to being snowed in, to this YouTube video! Pastor Mike had such strong Biblical message. Thank you God for using Pastor Mike to deliver this most encouraging and enlightening message!
