This is apparently the oldest building in the greenbay diocese and is a nice little parish with stained glass. Father Michael does a great liturgy that is reverent and is what the church desires.

Pigs are unclean. They deserve it. "And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat they are unclean for you." Leviticus: 11 They are just following levitical law. Is this what led to the council of Jerusalem, in the sense of Christians being forced to follow the mosaic law? Yes. Yet the church here isn't forcing anyone to participate. Would you rather have a Levitical contest where you balance the Ark of the Covenant, killing those who touch it and are not Levites? Chronicles 13:7-11 Or 'Who can eat the most burnt lamb?' I say no. I see great fun with the pig wrassling. If you want a fun parish event, burn a heretic. Maybe. It's great fun, but now that I think about it, it's all over in fifteen minutes or so, then you've got cleanup, and that's a real chore. Maybe a dunk tank with warm water so the trip into the water is increasingly uncomfortable. That would be lots of fun for the kids! (Sarcasm. Please know that I'm not serious. At all. I'm merely jumping on a long train of equally ridiculous reviews. No one cares that you went to Catholic school forty years ago or Googled a quick bible verse about animal cruelty. Get over yourselves. It's a parish event with maybe a hundred and fifty people? If that? Is a nasty, poorly-written review going to do anything? Write a letter, take out an ad, or better yet; get a life)

You have a moral responsibility. Death and great suffering of innocent creatures will be a result of this. Sickening, heartbreaking, you have lost touch completely.

There aren't few enough stars that I can give this excuse for a place of worship. Silly me; I thought that churches were places where people can expect to receive and see love, kindness, compassion, and respect in action. If, however, you're looking for a church where you can see abuse, machismo, bullying, unnecessary brutality, and complete disregard for life, then this is the place for you! With events that build community and instill a healthy respect for living creatures like this one where sensitive, innocent pigs (who have the IQ and emotional capacity of a human toddler, BTW) are corralled, chased, bullied, beaten, grabbed, kicked, punched, and thrown in a barrel, well, golly, I don't even know how you can top that. What's on the docket for next year? The Infant Stomp? The Dog Throw? The Grandma Corral? Why stop at pigs? Let's get all of the vulnerable and helpless in on this exploitative fun. You continue to amaze me (and not in a good, godly way), St. Patrick's. Pigs are God's creatures, too, and I absolutely abhor the stress and pain imposed on them with this ridiculous, purposeless event. Oh, and because the injured and traumatized animals cannot be returned to the farm, they are now en route to market to be auctioned off and slaughtered. Ya know what that sounds like to me? Read the Bible - it's called abuse and slavery. Next time this place wants to "raise money" for their institution, might I suggest something a little more sane, like a bake sale.

I find it really strange that many of these reviews are centered upon a single (past) fundraising event rather than St. Patrick’s as a whole. Every experience I have had attending Mass at this parish has been beautiful. The pastor’s homilies are so impactful and address current issues, as well as providing applications of the gospel in everyday life. The interior of the church building itself is gorgeous, with ceiling murals and traditional architecture. St. Patrick’s is a wonderful church!

I don't agree with any church that feels wrestling a pig isn't animal cruelty. Coming from a church who has a patron saint of the ANIMALS is total hypocrisy to say the least. I think it's sad that this church feels the need to put on this event in total contradiction of everything it preaches. This church is forgetting animals have souls and have emotions just like humans. The only problem is that this church simply refuses to listen to its own beliefs that it preaches to everyone else. I guess it's a double standard. They preach one thing and do the other. It's sad this church is turning a blind eye to animal cruelty.

I think it's disgusting that "civilized" human beings would do this! How would they feel if it was their dog or cat? What is the difference? Pigs are feeling beings! It's outragious that this could even be CONSIDERED entertainment! How did you people even allow this to become a planned event? You should all hang your heads in shame. Animal abuse through and through. If Jesus arrived, do you think He would consider this being "good stewards" of animals? Shameful representatives of Catholics!

Any organization using animal abuse to raise money is a brutal and cruel organization. I was raised Catholic and I would be terribly ashamed if my church participated in any way in these crimes. They would not get a single cent from me and forget ever attending there. Furthermore I would tell everyone I know what a bunch of hypocrites ran the place and went there to "worship." Jesus would never behave this way and you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

This church hosts an annual "Pig Wrassle", and while I usually enjoy a bit of light-hearted fun from rednecks in rural areas, this one is unacceptable. Video from this year shows that the pigs are mistreated and injured as well as being terrified during the event. Next year, instead of injuring pigs they should have a tractor pull, wife swap, or maybe a bake sale for the victims of child molestation at the hands of Catholic priests.

I always thought that churches were supposed to be a place that taught Christ's love, compassion, and empathy towards humans & all of God's creation? I guess the catholic church - or at least St Patrick's parish - believes in teaching cruelty, insensitivity and total lack of empathy instead. So, the pig torture event has been your "tradition" for many years. Well, slavery, lynchings, etc were "tradition" and "social norms" at one time also. Continuing a brutal behavior over many years, does not make that behavior become "correct" due to it's longevity - it only shows a selfish lack of all morals on the part of the person continuing to engage in improper behavior, using the excuse of "tradition".. And you have the unmitigated GALL to call yourselves "Christians"??? What a joke! You're an absolute embarrassment and shame to the catholic church, to all those who ARE actually Christians, and to God Himself.

If I believed in Hell, I would wish that you would all go there and be treated as you treated the poor animals that you have abused. But I don't believe in Hell, except the hell that those animals experienced. Therefore, you must be punished here on earth. More and more people are coming to the realization that animals are sentient beings and deserve to have a good and comfortable life. I hope your jury is full of these people! The times are changing! Shame on you. May you get the punishment you deserve.

I was shocked to see they consider abusing animals as fun and entertaining. All this torture on a poor defenseless animal just to raise money? Whatever happened to having bake sales or yard sales? Shame on you so called Christians! I would never ever go there again!

A group of people that supports the abuse and torture and then immediate slaughter of 37 pigs. I will not say a church because I do not see anything christian about this group. It only served in showing me how hypocritical religion is and a total disregard for a sentient being that feels fear. In fact, this lovely congregation threw water, hurled insults, and threatened physical harm to some very brave people only trying to be a voice for the helpless that day- SO CHRISTIAN! True colors hypocrits

Proudly not leading by example and instead teaching followers that animal abuse for amusement is acceptable. Would Jesus approve of this church and their lack of compassion for His creatures? Doubtful.

You deserve zero stars for your hypocrisy and abusive behaviour!!! The pictures and videos of your pig wrasseling event literally sicken me. As a Catholic I am ashamed of you for giving us a bad name ... you are not Christians, you are inflicting harm, terror, and abuse upon these sensitive, intelligent animals. The true test for you is to consider how you would feel .... Bruce Learman, Pat Rynish, Deacon Ken Bilgrien, Rose Rynish ... if a pack of crazed muddy people tried to tackle you??? How would you feel?? Use your Christian value of compassion to imagine it. That is exactly what the pigs are feeling. So disgusted with you. What would Pope Francis have to say? I am quite sure he would be apalled and defrock you all for this ungodly, barbaric behaviour.

What kind of "Christian" organization can possibly justify holding an animal fighting contest? What would Jesus say about that? To be so cruel and heartless for the sake of "entertainment" is beyond reprehensible. It is disgusting and some of the most un-Christian behavior you could undertake.

The collective behavior by parishioners, pastor and all who condoned/participated in the horrendous abuse displayed on August 9, 2014, is literally nauseating and beyond my comprehension. This is not emulating Christ! I can only hope that the pearly gates are locked tight when your souls show up for entrance and God provides you a one-way ticket to Hell.

Disgusted and confused. The church has issues if they think it's ok to hold this pig rassle. They say it's tradition? It's 2014 and time to evolve. If humans cannot find new traditions that do not harm other sentient beings, we have a real problem here. Use your brains, be creative, find other ways to entertain!!

SO you say it's ok to hold your "Pig Rassle" events because those are creatures bound for slaughter anyway, right? Might as well generate some income for "God's work" from them through this event before they meet their maker, is that about it? So why stop at pigs? What about inmates on Death Row? Or people with terminal illnesses? I think Kim John-Il or Hitler themselves would applaud your abilities to gain fortune from such suffering. Amen to the good people at St. Patrick's Parish for walking the walk of the merciless. Your commercialization of cruelty is contemptible. You may want to rethink your Mission, because my friends it is not that of Christ.

Absolutely no words ...reprehensible ..,is it any wonder why kind, good, compassionate people are turning away from religion when they have examples such as this place and what they do to "god's creatures" in the name of entertainment.... ? This congregations leader must have run out of altar boys to abuse....
