St. James Lutheran Church, part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), has been serving the Prairie du Sac community since 1960. Worship services at St. James are held every Sunday at 9:00 AM and Mondays at 6:30 PM during the summer. The liturgical format includes hymns, prayers, scripture readings, and a sermon, with service folders and projections to guide participants. Sunday School and Bible Study are offered for all ages from 10:15 to 11:00 AM on Sundays. The church welcomes visitors of all ages and provides family-friendly seating and programs for children.

The church has a rich history, beginning in a rented basement and moving to its current location at 415 Washington St. in 1966. Over the decades, the congregation has grown and modernized, including replacing the organ in 2006 and adding a digital piano in 2016.
