I called inquiring about the adoration chapel in late 2023. I had just moved here from Las Vegas. The adoration chapel I went to in Vegas was open 24/7 in one of the worst areas of town. It was always full of ppl with everyone being respectful. No code needed to enter. There was never any issue of anyone doing anything disrespectful or illegal. So when I called St. Mary and spoke with Kathy, I was a little surprised that I would need a code to enter. But what was more surprising and really upsetting was how Kathy spoke to me. She was down right mean and condescending. She interrogated me as if I was a criminal. She literally acted as if I was trying to break into the place! She never gave me the access code. She said I would have to go meet her face to face and give an in depth interview about my faith. Obviously I never went to that interview. I just read about how a theft of the Eucharist occurred in Jan 2024. And honestly I’m not surprised. I’m sure I’m not the only one who Kathy spoke to with such vitriol. When you treat ppl like a criminal, sometimes it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Whoever stole the Eucharist was totally wrong for doing so but someone other than Kathy needs to be handling the calls about the adoration chapel. I also would advise the church to highly consider NOT requiring an access code and also having the chapel open 24/7. Requiring an access code ( as well as being rude to ppl) is discouraging ppl from coming to the chapel. And as a church, you should be encouraging ppl to come and spend time with Jesus. If you treat ppl with respect and kindness, they will treat you with respect and kindness. I’m quite certain that Jesus himself wouldn’t have required an interview to enter his chapel to worship so why are you? And honestly, what does Kathy want ppl to say during the interview? What if a person says they are a non believer or a prior criminal who wants to come spend time at the chapel to try to build a relationship with Jesus? Based on my conversation with Kathy, and the fact I wasn’t even able to get the access code, I’m quite certain she would say NO.

I didn't have the chance to see the church open, but I'm sharing some photos of the exterior of this beautiful church.

Had our beautiful daughter and handsome new son in laws wedding, at St Mary’s in Oshkosh recently. Deacon Rick performed a love filled and joyous ceremony. Thank you so much Rick. The church is amazingly beautiful and glorious to be in . Felt all the tradition, history and love of an ornate cathedral that the church is. 💕 …

Unreal level of detail and STUNNING architecture. I am Catholic and have been to many different churches throughout my life, and this place really blew me away. It was almost hard to focus on the wedding I was attending because of it's inspired beauty!

St. Mary’s Church is gorgeous. Built in the late 1800’s. Participating in prayer and mass in this beautiful house of Jesus of Nazareth is awe inspiring.

This church was built to be the cathedral of the area in the 1850's. The church has some updates but for the most part it is still intact to the cathedral form in which it was intended.
