Beautiful place. Music was ultra traditional (organ music, not my style). Preaching was read, I wasn't impressed. But it could have been that I did not have ears to hear that day. Instead, I had to search through the maze of pages looking for "4th Sunday of Easter". I loved the handout, it was very thorough. But what would have been really helpful was to have the page numbers in the handout for the hymnal readings that day. Today is May 2nd and I attended last Sunday at 1030 am. In addition, on the website, I would have appreciated knowing what kind of music was featured at the different masses. 😃

This is one of the biggest Catholic churches in town and has a very unique architecture and it can be seen far away from the street it is very close to Marquette University campus.

Had our wedding here in June, and it was absolutely magical. Prep here was top-tier, the most well organized and professional experience, completely painless for a small-midsized wedding. Of course, gorgeous space, fantastic musicians, great location for a Milwaukee wedding.

Came here for sister’s graduation mass so I can’t really speak on the regular masses but the church was recently renovated and it’s looks nice 👍🏼 …

The upstairs church is gorgeous, the stain glass windows are breath taking. So much to take in. So many of them, totally awesome.

It's a big ole church. The interior was redone in late 2025.

Heck of a lot of stairs to come in the front. My walking stick helped. Niece's wedding. Her aunt played that magnificent organ, her cousin and brother's girlfriend sang. Huge space. Sounds reverberated throughout. Rest room, easy access thank goodness. Niece went to Marquette. She was happy. Nice wedding. Any readings and human voices reverberate too. A little hard to understand.

Being a Marquette Alum, I knew I wanted to get married at the Church of Gesu for a long time, and thankfully my husband agreed. Obviously, it is a beautiful church, and it made for some very beautiful wedding photos. As you probably know if you are looking to get married in the Catholic Church there are a few requirements first. We worked with Mike Heimbach, who is retiring and laid out these requirements for us, making the process very easy for us. They had a day where you get together with other couples to go over all of these requirements which was very helpful to us. Then, as we kept checking things off the list we continued to get emails from Mike letting us know we were right on time to get married on our set date. As for planning out our mass, it could not have been any easier. They had a template and book to follow along with to help you pick out the most appropriate music, prayers, and readings. One thing that we loved about getting married here, is that you had to use your own priest, so we were able to get married by my husband’s cousin which made for an extra special day. Our ceremony was beautiful, and could not have gone any better. I am so glad we got married at Gesu Parish.

Stunning Gothic architecture on the Marquette campus in the heart of Milwaukee. Easy freeway access; just pay close attention. Jesuits live in community. New pastor and associate. Be sure to take in THE St. Joan of Arc Chapel with a docent! PLEASE CALL PARISH OFFICE IN ADVANCE OF TOUR! A WEEK WOULD BE BEST, AS ONLY STAFF MEMBERS PROVIDE TOURS. THANK YOU!
