"First Congo" has been our spiritual home and true community for over a decade. The welcome, the warmth, support, and openness to All has meant a great deal to us. We wanted to join a church that was Open and Affirming and First Congo is.... We have missed the coffee hour after services during Covid... which usually meant true connections with dear friends and expanding our circle. Also our church encourages our members to collaborate with other faith communities on local needs of "the other"... those others that Christ taught us to attend to and lift up.. the prisoner, the homeless, the hungry, the immigrant, the sick...the downtrodden. Our Church is very connected with the general community so there are great opportunities to "get out there and do the work". We benefit in so many ways... Pastor Kent and Pastor Laura are both inspiring, and give thought provoking sermons that often leave us... "well I hadn't really thought of it that way"...we are challenged. And finally, our music leadership and choir and instrumental musicians are top notch - It is often simply through the music that our hearts are lifted. For all of this, this we are so very grateful.

A congregation that is open and affirming and on a journey of listening to the still speaking God who calls us to justice. Dynamic children’s programming, musical variety in worship, and messaging in the sermon that challenges and inspires.
