  I attended Brew City Church twice while searching for a Bible centered, non-political church here in Milwaukee. I want to start by saying that everyone I met was very kind, welcoming, and friendly. Despite the church stating they don’t preach politics, the messages were strongly tied to social and political themes rather than being rooted primarily in Scripture. If you’re looking for a church that intentionally connects faith with modern political or social issues, this may be a good fit for you. However, if you’re like me, seeking a church that adheres closely to the Bible and focuses solely on Jesus and Scripture traditionally, this likely won’t be the right place. Every church has its style—this one just wasn’t for me unfortunately.

  My partner and I have FINALLY found our home church that loves us unconditionally. Pastor Randy is such a personable and caring pastor and gets to know everyone in his congregation. While it is a smaller church, staff make sure you feel comfortable with welcomed and included in this environment. My partner and I cannot wait to see what God continues to do through this church.

  We just had our wedding at Brew City Church. My fiance and I were both living out of state, and found Brew City as a church that could accommodate our long-distance needs. Shari, the coordinator, was wonderful to work with leading up to the ceremony, as well as on the wedding day. She was organized, helpful, and friendly. The sanctuary itself was beautiful and the perfect place for our families to witness our wedding. (The pastor that married us was incredible throughout pre-marital counseling and during the service, but has since moved on from Brew City.) So happy we were able to start this next chapter of our lives at Brew City Church.

  My first time at the church was a blessing. I am truly blessed by the people at the church. They were very nice and kind. Even welcoming. Thank you Jesus for the beautiful songs at the church.   I cannot give a review that will do justice to how amazing Brew City Church is! Brew City is family to my family and community to my community. The leadership is diverse and continually looking to get more diverse. The church is committed to the local neighborhood and to the justice issues that face our city including drug addiction and rehabilitation, racial conciliation, serving the poor and poor in spirit, and so much more. We love Brew City's challenging sermons, powerful and vibrant worship, and its commitment to the community through prayer and acts of service. I would invite you to come and feel the warm, welcoming embrace of the BCC family. My hope is that you will feel right at home the moment you step foot into the doors.

  The first thing that greets you when you walk into Brew City is the genuine warmth of its people. You'll be greeted with a smile from someone who actually wants to get to know you. You'll be welcomed into the cafe for hot coffee. The music is top notch. The messages are approachable, yet challenging and deep-diving. On top of all of that, the people are what really make this place a great church.

  This is my daughters church and we have visited a couple of times. I thank God this is the fellowship she chose and she is growing in her love and knowledge of Jesus. The home church fellowship she has is very much a part of spiritual growth. I listen to all the sermons online and they challenge me in my walk with Jesus. May our Lord Jesus continue to advance His Kingdom through this body of believers!

  The people are welcoming, gracious and loving. The lead pastor is bold in his affection for Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit, and adheres to scripture. The space is historic and beautiful. It's a great place to come into spiritual family.

  Brew City Church....come all who are wounded and weary and find rest and restoration for your soul. But be warned God is in the business of transformation. And The beautiful people of this community will walk with you and encourage you every step of the way. Jesus loved you and is for you and if you welcome Him He will live in you. As the Holy Spirit whispers and rouses you can and will find victory at the foot of the cross.

  When I first walked into Brew City Church, I immediately had this sense of being welcomed and belonging, like coming home to family after a long separation. The presence of God is so tangible and beautiful in this group of believers, which keeps me coming back!

  God, names of. 6. Tsur (Rock): Five times in the "Song" of Moses (Deut 32:4; Deut 32:15; Deut 32:18; Deut 32:30; Deut 32:31 (refs5)) the word tsur, "Rock," is used as a title of God. It occurs also in the Psalms, Isa and poetical passages of other books, and also in proper names, Elizur, Zuriel, etc. Once in the King James Version (Isa 44:8) it is translated "God," but "Rock" in the American Standard Revised Version and the American Revised Version, margin. The effort to interpret this title as indicating the animistic origin of Old Testament religion is unnecessary and a pure product of the imagination. It is customary for both Old Testament and New Testament writers to use descriptive names of God: "rock," "fortress," "shield," "light," "bread," etc., and is in harmony with all the rich figurativeness of the Scriptures; the use of the article in many of the cases cited further corroborates the view that the word is intended to be a descriptive title, not the name of a Nature-deity. It presents the idea of God as steadfast: "The appellation of God as tsur, `rock,' `safe retreat,' in Deuteronomy refers to this" (Oehler, Old Testament Theology). It often occurs, in a most striking figure, with the pers. suffix as "my rock," "their rock," to express confidence (Ps 28:1). 7. Kadhosh: The name (qadhosh, "holy") is found frequently in Isaiah and Psalms, and occasionally in the other prophets. It is characteristic of Isaiah, being found 32 times in that book. It occurs often in the phrase qedhosh yisra'el, "Holy One of Israel." The derivation and meaning remain in doubt, but the customary and most probable derivation is from qadhash, "to be separate," which best explains its use both of man and of the Deity. When used of God it signifies: (1) His transcendence, His separateness above all other beings, His aloneness as compared to other gods; (2) His peculiar relation to His people Israel unto whom He separated Himself, as He did not unto other nations. In the former sense Isaiah used it of His sole deity (40:25), in the latter of His peculiar and unchanging covenant-relation to Israel (43:3; 48:17), strikingly, expressed in the phrase "Holy One of Israel." Qadhosh was rather attributive than personal, but became personal in the use of such absolute theists as Job and Isaiah. It expresses essential Deity, rather than personal revelation.
