While searching for a church for our wedding, my husband and I didn’t yet have a home congregation, and we discovered that very few churches in Madison allow non-members to get married there. Bethel Lutheran Church was gracious enough to welcome us, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Our wedding ceremony at Bethel was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, I felt completely at ease—any worries I had were unnecessary. We met with Pastor Lauren once before the ceremony to discuss our relationship and how we envisioned our wedding. She truly listened and thoughtfully incorporated our story into the ceremony, making it deeply personal and beautiful. Chelssey Hewitt, the wedding coordinator, was wonderful to work with. She guided us through the planning process and helped determine what we needed for decorations—which turned out to be very little, as the church is stunning on its own. We only added a welcome sign and a memorial table. Stephen Self provided the music for our ceremony, and it was incredible. Our processional, “A Thousand Years” from the Twilight Saga, was played beautifully on the organ, and our recessional, “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, was performed perfectly on the piano. It was the perfect ending to a joyful celebration.

What’s to say. They claim to help homeless. Homeless people need stability. Bethel is never open. Sometimes Monday and Thursday? Other days when they feel lazy they just don’t show.

All Around Great Church. Friendly Community Place That Offers Sunday Services, As Well As Community Help With A Food Pantry, And Homeless Support Services. This Well Kept Church And It's Staff Are Amazing! Big Props To Pastor John Who Married My Husband And I. GREAT CHURCH!

We have used the food pantry here many times and we have never had s bad experience. They are always very helpful, and this last time we went, the elevator was taking a while to come, so a nice man took us an alternative way to speed things up (we have four kids) and then even helped us put the groceries into the car. The extra help was very appreciated.

Went to the pantry. They are very generous. The only thing I would say is make sure you check the expiration dates. I know it's free but July 2018 cake mix I got was given back. Otherwise it's a great pantry and it's also a really great church. They have a camp for the kids all kids don't have to be a member in the summer. Most kids are scared the 1st time but after that they want to go every year after that. They look forward to seeing the friends they made the 1st time and the counselors as well. It's a great experience.

Has one of the best food pantries as far as food. you get more quantity of food and I even got a big 12 oz packet of starbucks coffee, great selection of diverse choices of sufficient meals, foods to cook and even has microwaveable ones and has canned good meals even like ravioli and etc... besides that hygiene products and toiletries are available. you can go there once a month and call them at 9am first so you can go to the pantry between noon and 3pm.

Beautiful, welcoming to all- A Madison landmark in the heart of down town. Always a pleasure when I'm able to attend services- Not a pushy environment either.. it's a place where all who believe in God the Father & his son Jesus can come & commune without judgment on how often one attends services- if at all-

My husband and I watched Bethel every Sunday faithfully. As did my Mother. He passed away Jan.23rd of this year and his picture is facing the TV so we can still watch Pastor Brown. My husband was a huge fan of Pastor Brown. I am however not crazy about the show freezing up so much. It has happened 3 times in 10 minutes and we miss part of it. Why does this happen and can it be fixed. ? Bethel was my Mother's home church and mine too as a child. I miss Madison.

I came for the food pantry and have never been made to feel more judged in my life. I grew up in church but this one stop would make me never want to go to any church if I didn't know better. What a place to be judged...

Husband and I went to this church to have a appointment with a gentleman for housing we found out while we were there that they served lunch at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays here's the catch on Tuesdays they have a chef on Thursdays it's what's left over but let me tell you folks there left over with some of the best pepperoni and best sausage pizza I've had in a long time not only did they feed us to pieces of peace my husband had a ham sandwich and not lunch meat ham actual breakfast Ham on a bun and they had the most delicious Christmas watermelon so if that's leftovers God bless them I meant also very nice staff very nice staff I volunteered and helped a lady in The Clothes Closet who is taking her granddaughter to Ireland for a week I hope she's having a great time thank you for all you do for the community my husband and I greatly appreciate what you did for us and just one day God bless you all at Bethel Lutheran Church
