My husband and I attended WCC for a few months back in 2019! We liked the people, the sermon not so much! One Sunday WCC had a lunch after service, so of course my husband and I stayed so we can talk an get to know people! Pastor Scott sat at our table, we started talking to him, then he asked us how long we've been married (we were married for two months then) then he asked when our baby (who is now 6) was born, we told him that I got pregnant while we were dating (yes, I know a sin, but who doesn't sin?) At the point he stopped talking to us and didn't acknowledge us anymore! A pastor isn't supposed to judge, a pastor is supposed to help guide Since then, we have a found a new church that we love, especially our kids! They didn't judge us when we told the pastor over there So please, don't go to this church, especially if got married while pregnant, Pastor Scott will judge you Edit: No I will not be contacting "Pastor" Scott to talk about my review! I already have a new church, been going there for 4 years

I first went to this church in 2023, and it has been a blessing in my life for the past couple years. I've made amazing friends here, and the community here is kind and welcoming. There are a good number of ministries and the church also does outreach events like the senior potluck and participates in town events like Planters days. I've grown a lot in my faith here and am grateful for the solid biblical teachings from the pulpit. I've seen many people saved and baptized (including close friends) in this church which puts a strong emphasis on the gospel. There is a healthy focus on sanctification and growing in Christ, and they put the grace and love of the Lord at the center of the gospel through their teachings and real-life applications. I've also had many great conversations with the leadership here, and they are easy to talk to and listen to any concerns. I was honestly surprised at how willing the leadership was to connect with me when I first started going, and they really do have a true love and care for the members, including young adults like myself. Like in any church community no one here is perfect, but God is definitely working through this church's ministry, and I am thankful to Pastors Scott and Nathan for their leadership and biblical ministry here.

I’ve spent some time at this church, and there are certainly some great aspects, including the warm community and welcoming atmosphere when you first join. The sermons are easy to understand and involve the congregation with guided note taking. It's also nice to have a service that starts and ends with communal worship. It's refreshing to see a good amount of young people in the congregation (at least, when I was attending), especially in a time when the number of young Christians seems to be dwindling. However, I started to notice a disconnect between the church's teachings and their real-life, practical application. The leadership seemed somewhat out of touch with the needs of the congregation, and certain practices didn’t align with what I expected in terms of genuine community support (the kind that Paul wrote about in the New Testament). While there are definitely people who feel at home here, I found the overall experience to be less fulfilling than I had hoped. There seems to be an overemphasis on sanctification or “growing in Christ”; a focus that can lead to harmful guilt, shame, self-loathing, and legalistic thinking. The leadership seems to pride itself on this kind of teaching and counsel, continually placing guilt (masked as repentance) at the center of the gospel and reducing the grace and love of our Lord to a footnote. Any concerns raised are often ignored or dismissed, with Bible verses cited that don’t seem to address the concern at hand, but rather redirect the conversation. I hope the leadership will take more time to connect with the needs of the congregation and, moving forward, prioritize the spiritual and mental health of its members, especially the young adults. This church may work for some, but for me, it wasn’t the right fit. (Edit) I want to clarify that my review wasn’t written to upset anyone or diminish the positive experiences others may have had here. My intention was simply to share my own experience and why this church ultimately wasn’t the right fit for me. I’m genuinely glad when people find spiritual growth and community in a church setting, even if my journey looked different. At the same time, I think it’s important to acknowledge that different people can have completely different experiences within the same congregation. When concerns (perhaps, prestented in a google review) are met only with opposite statements, rather than thoughtful engagement, it can feel like the concerns are being dismissed rather than understood. My perspective isn’t meant to discredit anyone else’s. It’s simply a reflection of what I encountered and how the leadership style, emphasis on sanctification, and approach to addressing concerns affected me personally. I hope this helps provide a fuller picture for anyone considering attending, while still respecting those whose experience has been more positive.

Man, where do I begin? I hadn't gone to church in many years. I drove a mail route, and met a couple of families that attended this church. We talked off and on, as we built friendships, and I finally got the opportunity to go. Pastor Scott walked right over and introunced himself, sat with me, and chatted for a bit. I felt totally welcome. Everyone I spoke to, was so kind! I started going every Sunday! (Except for when my kids were sick etc.) I have attended this church for a few years now, and I never want to go anywhere else. I found my church home. I can talk to ANYONE about ANYTHING, and never feel judged. I talked with Pastor Scott and Katie multiple times, and they sat there as long as needed. Listened to everything I had to say, gave suggestions and showed me Scripture to back it up. Pastor Scott's, Pastor Nathan's and Jake's sermons are preached straight from the Bible. They don't preach it as their own word, or understanding. They make it so easy to understand, and how to apply it to our daily lives. They pray for you by name, you aren't just a number, you are their family. I never would have thought, driving a mail route, chatting with customers, playing with kids and pets.....that I would find a person who took the time to invite me to their church. Plus, she has become one of my closest friends, and I am so grateful for her, and her family. God doesn't make mistakes, He puts you in the right place, at the right time. This church is more than walls and a place to sit, it is a family, imperfect and flawed, but all there to worship a perfect God. I couldn't ask for a better place to spend my Sunday. Plus, the first Sunday of every month, is potluck!! Who doesn't love some AMAZING food?!?! I know there are bad reviews, and everyone will have a different experience, but the only way to know for sure is to come check it out. Maybe it isn't your home church, but it just might be! Please don't let a few people deter you from visiting, we would love to have you! I am so grateful for our Pastors, and their families..... I can't even imagine how hard this job is for them, or the things people say to/about them. Remember, your Pastor needs your prayers too 💗

My Family have been coming here for a couple of months now. Woodland Christian Church is our new home for Sunday School and Sunday Worship. They also have evening services, a wide range of activities including Christian conferences, Men & Women's groups including book clubs, home Fellowships through-out Clark County as well as monthly board game nights. All these activities and more to help align you with God's Word. Pastor Scott and Pastor Nathan are genuinely welcoming. They strive to shepherd their congregation and teach the word. I am thankful to be part of a church that loves me and will not back down on what the Bible states. Woodland Christian Church holds to a strong commitment to the expositional preaching of God's word.

This church has been nothing but a blessing to our family for the last 10 years. My husband and I have grown so much. The teaching is solid and sound. It took us a long time to find a truth teaching church straight from the Word of God! We thank God for bringing us to WCC.

We love WCC and are so glad God led us here! I love that Pastor Scott lets God's Word speak for itself with clear and understandable teaching that is applicable and helps people grow and change into the image of Christ. He doesn't rob the gospel of it's power by using a bunch of gimmicks, bells, and whistles, or by trying to manipulate our emotions. He teaches the hard truths of Scripture in a loving and grace-filled way. The elders love God's Word and try to live in submission to it. They're very serious about their roles as our leaders, and feel the weight of responsibility for their church members. They live lives of personal sacrifice for the sake of God's Kingdom. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a Bible-based church these days. We looked for years before we landed here and I'm so glad we held out for this rare gem. Our family has been so blessed and has grown exponentially in our faith because of this church! We thank God for WCC!!

Staff and other members have done their best to be inclusive and accepting as a newcomer who hasn't been to service in many years, which is exactly how it should be. I have been to many different churches when younger, and this has felt the most comfortable and good for a family. Too many modern churches try to rely on pizzazz and theatrics to hold attention, which is just heavy salesman tactics and a sense of falsity. This church isn't like that; the sermons and worship are calm, pure, and have a comfy feel. The sermons feel like a real conversation that I can understand and learn from as if it was just me and him in a room chatting. My wife and children have never had so much friendship and support. Therefore, I can say the sense of community is well rounded here.

I have never felt so welcomed at a church! I came in there feeling embarrassed with how my kids were being during service and not one person made me feel bad about it. They actually all came to me to tell me to not worry they have all been in my place and that everyone understands that kids can make you feel overwhelmed some days. They made me feel so welcomed and comfortable as a mother and never skipped a beat if I needed helped! They are so inviting and try and invite to even fellowships at others homes. I have grown up going to a church and actually stopped attending church altogether because of feeling outcasted and unwelcomed. I was even hesitant of starting to go here but the more I go the more I feel comfortable and feel I can grow spiritually the right way.

We love WCC. From the first visit, we were made to feel so welcome and like part of the family, and we've been there ever since. These people love the Lord and His Word, and it shows in everything they do. The preaching is expository, which is hard to find in a church these days. The majority of the songs are hymns, and not putting on a performance like so many churches. This is an elder-led church, with high, biblical standards for leadership, and they shepherd their flock well, guarding against wolves but also exercising proper discipline of the sheep. It is all done to the glory of God alone. The love and grace of God are evident here. We didn't know a church like WCC could exist in real life, but we're so glad it does, and we're thankful we get to raise our family as part of the WCC family.
