I went for a weekend Cursillo and my experience has redefined the trajectory of my life. As a cradle catholic I would describe my experience as a Christian bootcamp, mental rehab, and spiritual awakening rolled into one. I'm looking forward to returning as a helper in the years ahead. The church grounds are well maintained, beautifully manicured rose bushes, and breathtaking views of the canyons and confluence. Absolutely beautiful and life changing experienceat this church! Much love and appreciation to the groundskeeper and kitchen staff❤️.

Attended daily mass for around six months and a few of the OCIA classes as a seeker before dropping out. My time there ended up being a character study of creepy priests and a woman sponsor combo. Spiritually stranded in the middle of what use to be an Apple Orchard in the middle of nowhere—East Wenatchee. As the days of my life ticked away, never to return again, the only comfort to be had was it least my religious sensibilities wasn’t as awful as theirs. Not once during my 6 month tenure of taking everything in and learning about Roman Catholicism, did one priest out of 3, ever come up to me and extend their hand and welcome me. The parishioners weren’t any more welcoming either, in fact, they all were rather indifferent to my being there and the overall mood of the place felt like no one seem to care if I stayed or I disappeared.[This is due to the centralized, hierarchical structures of apostolic churches] Several times I would arrive to weekday Mass early to find the chapel door locked and a couple of us early birds had to wait in the cold for the priest to open the door. They were more concerned about having their candle holders stolen then they were about having the door open for those who like to arrive early to pray before all the noise and electric lights. Word of advice: Find a poor church instead of one with Italian marble floors, because the door will always be open at a poor church. This church like many, is more interested in building buildings than building up people. Also, the visible signs of surveillance cameras at a church feel intimidating because they project an atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion rather than the welcoming, sacred, and open environment that parishioners expect [parishioners often feel that security measures convey an assumption that the community is a threat rather than a sanctuary]. Houses of worship are traditionally viewed as spiritual sanctuaries where people go for peace, vulnerability, and reflection. Extensive monitoring disrupts this atmosphere, making parishioners feel constantly watched and judged [many feel it diminishes the sense of divine omnipresence.] I also didn’t appreciate the constant badgering of parishioners for donations during the weekend mass. One Sunday, one of the priest all but shoved a donation envelope in my hand….after he begged for 15 -20 minutes for money at the pulpit. The same priest who never extended his hand….introduced himself or welcomed me. I found that to be shameful. Am sorry but as soon as the topic of money walks in the room, God walks out. The Mass itself seemed more protestant than catholic. With the priest walking up and down the aisles while giving his homily like a TV evangelist cracking jokes and entertaining the crowd. The irreverence of the place was astonishing to say the least. The departure from ancient traditions was sad to see. Even some of the men and women who attended dressed in modestly. The impression I felt was that the Catholic Church has compromised its standards to fit modern culture, instead of modern culture conforming to the standards of the church. So now it’s a culture of anything goes… Everyone is entitled to everything, offended by everything, ashamed of nothing and contributes nothing. Many will most likely find the Church beautiful, especially the Italian marble floors, and find the history of the RC, a staggeringly dramatic landscape, that easily lends itself to cinema. Unfortunately, a true church requires more than scenery, a point that is lost on the priests who serve here. Rather than holy fathers battling for the souls of men, I saw bewildered actors. And homilies badly served by a script that eschews any attempt at character development. This parish fails on multiple levels. Better to admit you walked thru the wrong door, than spend your entire life in the wrong room.

Father Argimiro is amazing, goes above and beyond for this church and community. I am truly thankful he was put in our path/church. They are on top of the whole covid thing sanitizing after every mass and making sure everyone is following protocol.

My father supervised the remodeling of Holy Apostles many years ago when he & my mother moved to East Wenatchee. The priests & congregation embraced my parents, and in turn my siblings & I whenever we would visit. The building is beautiful, but its the people that make it amazing. And I'm not even Catholic!

All I got to say is that it shouldn’t be so hard to get an application for my children’s confirmation I’ve been trying to get one from anyone but can’t because they “don’t want to take the people job” it’s very disappointing and stressful because I have to find out from people when that person is available or even when she get here.
