Ken Medema's powerful lyrics within his anthem, "Come Build a Church," include these: 'Come build a church with soul and spirit, Come build a church of flesh and bone. [...] Come build a church of human frailty.[...] It shall be built by the hand of God.' I can only paraphrase what this composer and lyricist has gorgeously put into a gem of an anthem. I specifically bring up this anthem and these lyrics, here, now, on this timeline and date of April 16th, 2026. I sing in the choir, I ring bells and chimes in the bell choir, I've been known to step in as crucifer when invited, and was recently asked to join the Arts Team. This community of beautifully flawed, re-glued with hearts of gold people is more precious than I could have imagined. The liturgical leadership is potent, gentle, inviting and warm. Between music in and beyond worship, there are multiple ways to participate and/or receive, including a drum circle. This is also my childhood church!! I initially moved here with my family in 1977. While I was only here for 4 years before needing to move again, Grace Lutheran was a major facet of my childhood. Choir. Youth group. Sunday school. 45 years later, the congregation is going strong. If you are looking for a liturgically robust and really grassroots congregationally-responsive environment where you can be with others who may want to be held with other real human beings and figured out how to increase your resilience and capacity for trust, Grace Lutheran is where to go. I can't say enough so I'll stop here. 😉❤️‍🔥🥰 One more thing: they livestream the main services as well, so truly ALL are welcome. You can watch them on YouTube whenever you want while in bed or wherever.

Have attended church here as long as I have been living in Wenatchee (since I was about 2 1/2... So 33 years!) And always had a positive experience. Things have changed since covid but they've been doing an amazing job trying to keep things "normal" and also follow health standards and rules. They also have implemented a more lenient view toward members of the congregation, encouraging attendance from individuals coming from all walks of life. It's a great community to be a part of.

Preaching the social gospel. More like a Methodist church than a Lutheran church.
