As a church that boasts online of their welcoming nature, it was extremely disappointing to walk in for the first time and not feel very welcomed. We had one person look our way and say a brief hello and welcome, and that was it. We were so disappointed we almost just left, we did stick it out and the service was ok, but feeling unwelcomed left a bad taste and we quickly left as soon as the service was over. We have never felt so unwelcomed our first time at a church.

I started attending Calvary Crossroads back when they were still a small church in East Wenatchee. I was 14, had just lost my father, was bitter and suffered from depression and anxiety. I didn't want to be there, but I attended with my mother and grandmother-albeit infrequently-since about 2004. I was hurt, I was hard hearted and I was walled off emotionally; I wasn't a pleasant person to be around. The people that come here come from all walks of life; rich, poor, young, old, faithful their whole life, newly faithful midlife. They aren't just people, they are a family; they are so different, yet all come together to worship God above all else, setting aside all differences. No games here, no scripts, no false promises or deceptive behavior. What you see is what you get. They accept you at times when you can't accept yourself-challenge you to be what they know God made you to be-and show you just a small, humanly possible glimpse of the love of the Father. Come as you are.
