I came regularly years ago when I lived in Federal Way, it had been many years since I went to church because I had a hard time finding one that made me feel good when I'm there and when I leave. Then I found Booklake. They are fun, friendly, and so helpful when u need it. When I left there on Sundays I felt renewed and ready to take on anything. Then we moved an hour away and I just couldn't make the trip after awhile. Made me sad to stop going. Then I went back recently just to see if I would be just as moved as I was before (I have had bad luck finding one where I am now that I enjoy) and it was just as amazing as before. They are very modern, music is phenomenal, and Pastor Scott has some pretty great sermons that really speak to you about the lord without making you feel like a terrible human being. I wish I could go more often.

I’m sharing this with the hope that it helps leadership reflect and improve how people are cared for during moments of deep personal crisis. During my divorce and the season immediately after, I was a member of this church seeking pastoral support. I did so intentionally and thoughtfully, after encouragement from men’s group leaders, a therapist recommended by a church member, and because I genuinely respected the pastor and trusted the church. I wasn’t looking for programs or referrals. I was looking for pastoral presence, spiritual guidance and care during one of the hardest periods of my life. Instead of meeting with a pastor, I was redirected toward groups and structures. While those can be valuable, they are not a substitute for intentional pastoral care when someone is hurting. I understand a pastor is not a therapist, but a pastor’s role is still to shepherd, listen, and walk alongside people in pain. In that moment, I felt managed rather than cared for. After the divorce, my experience attending church became increasingly uncomfortable. In multiple interactions involving my ex-wife during kid related activities, she was surrounded by several men acting as visible security. Whether intentional or not, this made me feel treated as a threat rather than as a fellow congregant seeking healing. No one explained this to me or checked in to see how I was doing. The final time I attended, I lost my composure. That moment didn’t come from nowhere; it was the result of feeling unseen, unsupported, and quietly pushed to the margins. When later asked what outcome I was hoping for, I didn’t have the words at the time. I do now. I wanted to be treated with dignity and care how I believe God intends His people to be treated, especially during seasons of suffering. Not excluded without explanation. Not handled from a distance. Simply shepherded. This review isn’t written in anger, but in sadness. I believe the church has the opportunity and responsibility to do better for people walking through divorce and deep personal loss. I hope this feedback is received in that spirit. Ezekiel 34:4

We visited for the first time and were warmly welcomed by everyone. Pastor Scott, his wife, and Pastor Nathan made us feel truly special. We immediately felt at home and are excited to make this our church family. The Easter baptism service was absolutely the highlight for me — such a beautiful and powerful experience. Christian church that's amazing for your soul! Brooklake is an experience that me and my family truly enjoy. I grew up in churches in the 90s with the criticism and bigotry that put me off church for a long time. Brooklake is a huge change from all of it. The live band worship really moves and inspires you and pastor Scott delivers great sermons meant to teach, lead and inspire without all of the condemnation. If you haven't been to church in a while or just want to try something new I definitely recommend Brooklake. If you can't attend in person please at least view the message online. If you are reading this I hope to see you there someday. God bless and take care.

First time visiting this church after a long hiatus from church in general. It was incredibly wholesome. Pastor Scott’s message in today’s service touched the core of my soul… something I needed to hear. I am also thankful to Pastor Scott for praying for me near the end of service. I also want to thank the lady who prayed for me and left me with a positive message of encouragement, it will stick with me. The whole experience was a true blessing. Thank you, Brooklake Church

Our children have been going here since our eldest daughter was in the second grade. This is a wonderful school. The teachers are amazing, truly care for the children and they want to help them be the best that they can be. The school environent is fun and safe. No bullying is tolerated. Kids are taught to be respectful, caring and they are encouraged to learn and grow as individuals. This is a wonderful school and we are so happy that our children enjoying going to school here.

We are so blessed to be a part of a church that reaches out to all around them. Because of your foresight to have a on line service, WE WERE ABLE TO WATCH OUR GRANDDAUGHTERS, LOGAN AND ZOE, BE BAPTIZED. Along with our granddaughter IVY giving her presentation. I've been going to this church since I was in the 6th grade. I'm now (as of writing this) in the 9th grade and I still come here. This church has made me really see the light of God and I enjoy coming here every day. I look forward to come here more. The people here are outstanding and amazing at their job.
