We started looking for a church after my son was born, Bethany was such a loving, supportive and vibrant community we decided to stay. Lots of opportunities for involvement or just loving support and the love of God, whatever you need for where you are at in your life.

This is a church in the center of Montpelier. I visited there for a recital but also picked up information on the church. They had a chapel that was beautiful. The church is very simple. They have a message of being all inclusive. They straight out make it know that they are a Gay Friendly church. The pastor is a woman. As I don't live in the area, I will never get a chance to attend a service but would love to see the church in action. Also they have a common meal once a week, how good is that... Common means anyone who is hungry.

I have been a proud member of Bethany for a number of years. They are truly a church that follows the teachings of Jesus. "Welcome the stranger" with a night shelter, "Feed the hungry" with a weekly noon meal and hospitality following worship, "Comfort the sick" with visits and prayers. An open church with loving people!!

I love Bethany Church because the people there are so kind and caring. The leaders really practice the teachings of Jesus: To love one another as we love ourselves. That means taking care of ourselves and helping others are equally important. Pastor Amy Piton is a wonderful preacher but she is also a wonderful person and a wonderful church leader. There are a lot of great leaders at Bethany, So many people play important roles in keeping the church up and running, it is definately not a top down organization! That is also something I like about the UCC structure, no one is telling us we must do things a certain way. We decide as a group and we work together with kindness to achieve all the work we do in the community, like the delicious Bethany Bowl soup Kitchen and providing a shelter for homeless persons in the Fellowship Hall buring the winter months. We also support other mission work such as our 25 year long relationship with our sister church in San Antonio Grade, El Salvadore. We are a small congregation and not extremely rich in money, so we have to do a lot of fund raising in order to support the building and all the work we want to do. But it is fun to work with these people! So join us! We are a great group of people.
