This was, without question, the most disappointing church experience I have ever had. I visited for the first time today, and within five minutes of the service starting, I was singled out by a security guard who insisted on searching my bag. No one else around me was searched—just me. When I asked if there was a specific reason, or if I looked suspicious, the guard proceeded anyway, only to find nothing but my Bibles and notebooks. Moments later, a staff member approached me to inform me that security would be “keeping an eye on me” for the remainder of the service because of my bag. Only at that point was I told that bags like mine supposedly weren’t allowed—though, strangely, no one mentioned this upon my arrival. Needless to say, the rest of my time there was spent feeling unwelcome and under scrutiny. I stayed only out of respect for the friend who invited me. As for the service itself, I found the worship more theatrical than reverent. The emphasis seemed to be on crowd engagement and spectacle rather than on glorifying God. The first group of singers were notably off beat and out of tune, and the second portion—with the men in matching suits, including the pastor—felt more like a staged performance than an act of genuine worship. The sermon also left much to be desired. Before preaching, the pastor had the congregation extend their hands to “anoint” him to speak, which already struck me as odd. But what was most concerning was his use of Scripture to redirect attention toward himself. While recounting how a couple in the Bible blessed Elisha, he pivoted to ask the congregation, “How many of you know it’s good to love your pastor?” The focus was unmistakably on his own position rather than on Christ. Between the intrusive security, the lack of hospitality, the performance-driven worship, and the self-centered preaching, I left halfway through the service. I also left with the sense that my presence was not welcome, judging by the stares and general air of disapproval. For a church that bears the name “Church of God,” I had hoped to encounter something resembling the love and humility of Christ. Instead, what I encountered was the opposite.

Great church to go to if you want to be taught from the Bible. The members make you feel like you belong. They don't turn anyone away. All are welcome.

We attended a wedding in their chapel. It was a very good experience. The sound and lights were good and the room is visually appealing.

The people here are very rude to the people who actually live in this neighborhood, also the people who go to this Church do not know how to drive. They’ve blown past the stop sign many times completely disregarding the car that is approaching the turn.

This is the best spirit filled church you will find. Pastor Luke preaches an anointed strong word of God. The gospel will NEVER be watered down here. Come and see for yourself. It is the best.

My two daughters have attended Victory Tabernacle Child Development Center since they were infants. This is my youngest daughter's last year and we have had a wonderful experience with both of our children here. We have loved all the teachers and we know they received a great education. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for a spirit filled, Bible believing and anointed preaching, then this is your place to be. Pastor Same Luke is like none other. He stands on God's word and does not back down!. The Holy Spirit resides and this temple every service and the church members treat you like family. Also there is something for every age group from toddlers and newborns all the way to prime timers.

Absolutely amazing church, could have never asked better from the Pastor. Instead of boring people he keeps people interested by being dramatic (in a good way) and relates some life stories of his with them. Its a big church that is organized well.

Pastor Sam talked my wife into being Director of Discipleship when she had COPD back in 2020. She died 6 months later from Covid. Pastor Same said the Holy Spirit would protect her. So she went about doing her work and came down with Covid and died. So much for the holy spirit protecting her. Hugh mistake joining this church. Pastor Sam is a joke. Never heard from him after my wife died because of his stupidity.

Must say I came to Virginia broken, addiction had me lost and confused, never ever liked christians because all the ones I knew were just hipacrits in my eyes and my experience with them. I came and graduated from a Christian program called New Life for youth I graduated a year later and stood on as director of the men's home and manager of their thrift store , GOD had opened my heart and eyes a bit but I still had that old feeling about the hipacrits in church , so I was let go from my position because it was told to the pastors that I was still drinking. So once again I was alone and no wear to go so I stood with my soon to be wife. I was bitter and upset at new life but it was me not them. My soon to be wife and I began to visit victory tabernacle and made the decision that pastor Sam Luke would be the one who married us and he did. Couple days after we went to service and I was drinking again and b4 service I needed a drink for my shakes so I did something I never thought I would do and drank rubbing alcohol for the fix and it worked. While service was on I began to feel broken and disappointed, disgusted and at an alter call got up and began to weep and the whole time service was going I stood their and cried my butt of . I could hear pastor telling everyone let me be I had a lot to let go . After service an avit church member who happen to be a doctor helped and aided me b4 the ambulance arrived. Well it's too long of a story and I left lots of stuff out but I want everyone to know this I still feel the way I do towards the hypocrisy in many church members but it's not my job to criticize or worry because man will always be man and the focus is not on them but me and my issues and if I did continue I was no better then them actually I was being the same hipacrit I disliked. Long story short this place does something to me every time I enter it makes my hairs stand , it makes me wannna cry most importantly I can feel the spirit/presence of the most high and it opens my heart and my understanding of what the LORD want from me and what's needed for me to do as the leader of my church/home. Pastor Sam is a powerful man of GOD and you can feel and see how the lord uses this man in many different ways. I believe and know that GOD has a mighty grip of this man and uses him and all his abilities to preach the word and reach the souls need for his kingdom. I love this church, I love pastor Sam , anytime I reach out to pastor Sam he makes time for me and responds as faster then turning on your car. He has pored into me and keeps it 100% doesn't care bout fellings he care about his job and what his BOSS wants from him and his position. Today I struggle but stand girl in all my battles and if I fail I learn the lesson behind it and continue to work on the leader position GOD gave me as the leader of my church/family. Long story short if you never visited please do cause I'm proof that GOD is real 4 years clean and believe it or not the alcoholic in me has been destroyed by the almighty cause no matter how hard it gets and has gotten that easy way of giving up has not even crossed my mind. I love pastor Sam Luke and love my Father GOD for placing him in my life to teach my nuckle head tail the realnees with the toughest love ever and that's the kind of love I need cause of the type of person I am. Nuff said Praise GOD for men like Pastor Sam Luke who ain't afraid to keep it real for his BOSS and his duties as a pastor. Salute my brother and thanks for the kick in the butt I need , when I need it!

A wonderful place to worship. From the singing to the preaching, this is a place where the presence of the LORD can be felt. Plenty activities for the youth to young adults to seniors. When I'm in Richmond, I make sure I'm here to worship.

Hello, I registered my four year old Taylor for private school (part time) in March at your facility ... we paid Registration fee in March ... we turned in shot records... we purchased school supplies... we enrolled her in dance classes at the school... I have inquired about her teacher and was told she’d be in Ms. Jeanette’s class! I have answered every single call, we live in the local neighborhood and literally point and have told her that your facility is her school since March... she was so proud and showed her grandparents as they visited her and all! I have also received calls from the staff confirming pricing, hours and her class literally two weeks ago! Well, today I receive a call from the school stating that she cannot be accommodated at all (part or full time because the class is full and they have decided not to do part time) ... no one gave me a call to inform that they would potentially not be doing part time OR that someone would be taking her place in Ms. Jeanette’s class. I was told that I would be able to switch to full time later if they did not do part time... We are very disappointed and the staff was very unprofessional. She went on to call other parents that she stated did not have all of their information in (although she had all my info and had recently spoken to me) to give them the opportunity to remain in the class although my child was being kicked out... I’m not sure the reasoning behind this but it doesn’t Seem ethical or Godly. If someone could please advise on your policy that’d be great. Other schools have stated that my registration fee in March should have secured my spot indefinitely!

My school age daughter was shoved to the ground by a boy and had her hand slammed under a chair by another leaving a mark. Several children ganged up on her and our daughter told us that there was no one watching them. The staff did not tell us about these incidents and our daughter came home in tears. Based on what our daughter said we suspect that she was told not to tell us. One of the staff made a false CPS allegation for a rash caused by eczema, which we suspect was because we were complaining about bullying, and that we were not buying a holistic medicine suggested by one of the staff. My two youngest children are being treated for eczema and all the staff were made aware of this. We were often called at work to pick up our infant because she was spitting up which the doctor told us is completely normal for a baby. My husband and I are currently looking into a lawsuit as well as making a police report. Making a false CPS claim is a misdemeanor in Virginia that carries up to a year of jail time.
