I attended a Poages Mill COB musical Christmas program and it was enjoyable and inspiring. The Elf choir sang secular holiday songs such as "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" and lead the congregation in a sing along of traditional Christmas carols like "Silent Night"and "Away in a Manger". The pastor spoke briefly between some songs and read connecting scripture. The program was nicely balanced and filled those in attendance with joy. A delicious soup and sandwich dinner was served, and was very much appreciated on this cold night. The church was nicely decorated with natural greenery and festive ornamentation. I have never attended any services at this church, but the congregation made me feel very welcome and like part of their church family.
