I was thrilled to find out that Elevation Church was nearby when I moved there. I am somebody that far been following them, especially their music. The messages are crystal clear to me. I didn't look too far into what they represent and never heard messages from their pastor until recent times. I just knew that I loved their music and what they said! What I didn't really expect was that it is a southern Baptist Christian Church. I prefer non-denominational Christian churches so the pastor's message came off a little too excited (sound ) for me. No matter what, that is an outstanding environment! This is just a place full with true worshipers. They are so kind and loving. It's a spiritually generous atmosphere. It was wonderful to stay after service to have a conversation with a few of them. I've been traveling a lot and all of my belongings are not moved to Virginia. I miss having a Bible but use my YouVersion Bible app. When they asked if there was anything that I needed, I answered would I able to have a Bible. You get to see this beautiful orange Bible that they gave to me. It is well put together and I'm very excited for it. We prayed before I left and I do intend to go back. A little problem is that I wish that they had more community/groups for women. I am a lady that does not have children and this particular location seems to hyper focus on women's groups that appear to have all children services associated with them. Mostly mom type groups. If you are a mom looking for community, I am sure that this would fit you well. Overall, I was very happy with my experience. I just was a little overwhelmed with the delivery of the sermon because I am not Southern Baptist. I tend to lean a little bit more conservative, I like quiet and peaceful yet passionate delivered. This pastor is in a class of his own. He's knowledge and has a great message, just not for me. I love passion but this was very intense for me because I can't tolerate unexpected circumstances with behavior. Nonetheless, this is a total 5 ⭐ experience. The message was excellent and the people were extraordinary, just not my cup of tea. Give it a try! ✨👌 If you have found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up 👍 and feel free to follow me for future reviews.

1130 service Guided parking in large shared lot.some stairs to walk up. Friendly greeters at door, no hugs. Kids entrance availability. 20's 30's average age attending adults and plenty of variety of childrens age groups. Youth group. Modern music playing upon entering building. Welcome tent for first time guests. Merchandise table set up for selling CDs shirts and other gifts. Organized and guided seating corral style to theater style seats. Dramatic blue lighting on a black background on stage. Friendly people. Loud concert speakers with good quality sound. First time visitors are considered VIPs and escorted to waiting area for seating. Large emphasis on youth groups and secure kids check in policy. Guest preacher was cast through on screen. No bible reference during sermon, however teaching was very relevant to modern daily living. Guest preacher loud at times during sermon. Prayer for salvation at end and all interlocked arms during prayer. Everyone exited in a slow corralled manner as many people attended and left at same time. Overall average experience.

Super disappointed. People should know you are watching the service online. We were visiting from Wisconsin. Ushered to sit in the 2nd row, we said ok maybe they expect a big crowd. Not so. The head pastor who didn't preach was a distraction. I love Elevation church, but this experience was uncomfortable. I can't imagine how an unbeliever would feel. We were looking for a church to recommend to our son that lives here. I should also mention the police presence?? Not sure why they were around, but it was unsettling.

The best worship experience you'll get ANYWHERE! The music is really upbeat and gets you in the right place for worship. Pastor Steven is a PHENOMENAL speaker and even though he's not physically in Roanoke, his words are no less intense. There are so many opportunities to serve the community through this church. You will feel very welcomed as soon as you pull in to the parking lot.

This is more of an inspirational, feel good, motivational, psychology implied type "church" for the younger crowd. Definitely not what I expected for church & not a place to get grounded in The Word which should be #1 for any ministry. Of course The Lord can use all types of things & people to draw people to Himself. In my experience here at the Roanoke campus.....I was literally not seeing anyone with a Bible in their hand. I was told they didn't need Bibles....they have big screens for that. People in other countries would love to own a Bible.....most Americans never open theirs, it's even more upsetting when church folk don't even carry a Bible to church. It was completely dark the entire time!! I couldn't even see the pages on my Bible. They were selling clothing, books, drink bottles, etc in the front area too. If you want that easy feel good type of atmosphere then this is your place.

Obviously targeting a younger crowd, the music is very upbeat, loud and you can literally feel the sub woofers! (They offer earplugs at the door.) This is the perfect place to get young children, middle schoolers and high school and college age kids involved and loving the worship experience! Even though there's been much controversy surrounding the church's pastor, and other things, I still believe it's the way to get younger folks interested and excited about church.

I'm proud to say this is my church and I'm blessed to have found it... If you've never been I promise it's unlike any church you've ever been to in a wonderful way. It's so laid back and accepting of everyone.. Everyone I've met is so friendly. I say if you've never been just go once and try it because once is all it took for me.
