  Went for a memorial service. State of the art amphitheater and facilities. Big windows over looking trees and hills. Very rural area, I was surprised to find such a beatiful church there.

  The Sunday school teaching (esp Tim) is phenomenal!! I often wish he could teach for a FULL hour it’s so good. I never want to miss the Sunday school hour! The pastors/sermons are great as well. I often wish the sermons could be longer - I learn so much and my deep worship of my Savior has grown more in the past few years than in the previous 40 years!! The only downside for me is the music - it’s become very simple and very repetitive. We rarely sing hymns and I really miss that as part of worship. For the most part worship is a mix of traditional values and also welcomes the youthful crowd. The community of people at COTHS are genuine and welcoming - of everyone! No need to dress up, but you can dress up and fit right in 😊 come visit and meet the pastors and enjoy a blessed morning with the Lord!!

  We moved to Roanoke a little over a year ago, and a few months into attending CHS, my daughter said, “Sunday is my favorite day of the week.” I could not be more grateful for our church. The music, the teaching, the people, the kids programs, everything! It’s a great feeling having a church that you feel excited to recommend to people who are searching for a church family.

  I can not say enough good things about Church of the Holy Spirit. I was welcomed with open arms. The staff and members of the church have always made me feel at home. They work incredibly hard to create one of the best children's ministries I have seen. The community within this church is amazing. The picture I included is the first VBS we attended with CHS. They outdo themselves over and over again. I am truly blessed to be a part of this church family.

  We first encountered CHS as regular visitors 14 years ago whenever we came to Roanoke to see family. When we moved here four years ago our decision of which church to attend was simple. The beautiful time of worship in song, prayer and praise, the consistently reliable teaching of God’s Word, and taking communion with other committed Christ followers who want to share God’s love with others, is what initially drew us there and is what brings us back every Sunday. If you like a church with Liturgy, you’ll feel right at home; if you want a church without a liturgical framework you’ll still feel right at home because the focus is not on specific words or a particular format, but on Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

  Fantastic Bible teaching, inspired services, great music and weekly celebration of the Lord's Supper has been my experience here for many years. Belonging to this loving and supportive fellowship is one of the joys of my life.
