I visited this church for two Sundays and one Wednesday service and wanted to share an honest, thoughtful experience for others considering attending. The congregation is clearly passionate and uses Scripture frequently, which I respect. However, I had concerns regarding order, consistency, and how certain teachings and practices were handled. There were moments of speaking in tongues without clear interpretation, which did not seem to align with 1 Corinthians 14 regarding order in the church. Some messages felt more behavior-focused without full biblical context, and a few statements from the pulpit came across as unnecessary and not reflective of the tone Scripture calls for. I also did not feel a genuine sense of welcome. As we entered, several people observed us but did not greet or engage with us, and there seemed to be attention placed on outward appearance rather than creating a warm, inviting environment. Interactions felt surface-level, and the overall atmosphere came across as more judgmental than reflective of biblical grace and truth working together. I strongly encourage anyone visiting to bring their Bible, examine the teaching carefully, and approach with a Berean mindset—search the Scriptures and test everything being taught (Acts 17:11). Do not get caught up in emotional or hype-driven worship. Make sure what is being preached aligns with the full counsel of God’s Word and sound doctrine. This may be a good fit for some, but for those seeking structured, Scripture-in-context teaching, orderly worship, biblical hospitality, warmth, and genuine connection, it may not align with what you’re expecting.

When my wife and I moved to Chesapeake, VA, for work relocation over 2 years ago — we anticipated visiting several churches throughout the area for months up to a year before we settled on a church home. But God … from our first visit & service, we knew we had found our church home. The people were so welcoming and loving. Don’t be surprised if the pastor’s wife chases you down in the parking lot, and tells you this is now your church & how much you are loved by the church and by the Lord. The Spirit of the Living God is at work this church in the longest running revival of record to our knowledge … having people saved — repentance, baptism in water and/or baptism in the Holy Ghost weekly for over 5 years now … The worship is dynamic with a youth group that leads the pack many times into the altars during the singing & worship. The pastor — Bishop Jack Cunningham — is man of God and man of integrity. He preaches directly from the Word of God. The entire pastoral staff, elders and lay ministers are beyond phenomenal. They drafted us into many facets of the church without red tape or hurdles although they hold the highest standard of excellence and make you want to exceed expectations. And, the way they are open to letting any and all be used of God throughout the church. It’s a great place to be a worker in the Kingdom of God. We truly appreciate the multicultural environment — a Book of Acts church that looks like the Day of Pentecost and also looks like what I expect Heaven will be — with people of all races, tongues, walks of life & backgrounds. We are honored and privileged to serve and work for the Lord in such a great church & to call Bible World Church our spiritual home. Who wouldn’t want to have a church like this?

I was very impressed and truly blessed by this church and their services. I attended the funeral of a fellow Kenyan, and the church did a wonderful job accommodating the many different needs of family members during such a difficult time. The congregation was kind, humble, and welcoming. They truly demonstrated the meaning of Jesus Christ’s agape love. I especially loved the singing—the praise and worship touched my heart in a powerful way and brought comfort to my mourning heart. The pastor’s message at the graveside gave me hope and reassurance. It helped me understand that I will see my brother again if I surrender everything to Jesus Christ, allowing Him to order my steps and keep His Word burning in my heart. The Word of God has power! “Ancient Words” by Michael W. Smith. ncient Words By: Michael W. Smith Holy words long preserved for our walk in this world, They resound with God's own heart Oh, let the Ancient words impart. Words of Life, words of Hope Give us strength, help us cope In this world, where e'er we roam Ancient words will guide us Home. Ancient words ever true Changing me, and changing you. We have come with open hearts Oh let the ancient words impart. Holy words of our Faith Handed down to this age. Came to us through sacrifice Oh heed the faithful words of Christ. Holy words long preserved For our walk in this world. They resound with God's own heart Oh let the ancient words impart. Ancient words ever true Changing me, and changing you. We have come with open hearts Oh let the ancient words impart. Ancient words ever true Changing me, and changing…

Though I have not been to the church, one of the members Yahily, my Uber driver shared about the church and she did it in a way where it seemed very welcoming. That flows from the top down. Jesus at the center of it all.

I HIGHLY recommend! I felt the Lord and the Holy ghost when I walked in. People are so friendly and willing to welcome you in with open arms. Music and sermon are phenomenal!! I have never seen a church so dedicated to the Word!

The church feels very biased and unwelcoming, and it’s disappointing to see some people treated differently. My experience has made it clear that the church does not value everyone equally as much as they claim they do. i recommend going to a better church environment.

I was very impressed with this church and their services. We were here to attend a family funeral and the church did a wonderful job in accommodating all the various aspects of various family members. They also had so many kind and humble church members who assisted in the whole process. They even had a kitchen, including those kitchen services, that allowed our family to enjoy each other. So nice.

I LOVE Bible World Church!! This was my home church for many years until I moved out of state. There is No church like Bible World! Pasted Hall is an amazing man of God. If I ever return to Virginia, I will return to my Spiritual home. Thanks to the teachings and the people here, I have received the Holy Spirit and rejoice in the forever love of my Lord Jesus Christ!

This church is different then any other church that I have ever been to. Truly this is the type of church that is pleasing to God. Surely this is a church that is a blessing to all it's visitors and members. I urge anyone to visit this place and to experience what I would declare to be the greatest blessing in my life!

BWC has been our place of worship for more years than I can remember. This multi-cultural church is trying to take the word of God to the whole world. Pastor is faithful to the word. The word is sharper than a two edged sword so sometimes it Amen and sometimes is't Oh Me! But you can be sure that the spirit of the Lord moves freely & the word is very much alive here. There is a ministry for just about any age group you can think of. Hope to see you there! Try us out. I guarantee you won't regret it. Praise the name of Jesus!
