The River Worship is an amazing place for our family. We look forward to going every week. The music is fantastic—especially if you’re a fan of Elevation Worship—and it always sets the tone for a meaningful service. Pastor Ryan delivers great sermons that really connect, relating Bible scripture and stories to everyday life in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Highly recommend!

An absolutely incredible experience. The presence of God fills the room from the moment worship begins. The team, the music, the atmosphere—it all feels alive and genuine. So grateful to have something like this in Canada.

I can't believe I didn't know about The River sooner! We went last week for the beginning of Season 14 and it was absolutely incredible! So many Christians coming together to worship was/is absolutely beautiful! The energy in the room is so uplifting and healing! We'll be going every week from now on and sharing it with everyone we can! If you're in the area, you should absolutely check it out!!

I've attended twice now, and nothing but nice things to say. ❤️ The River is one of those rare places where you immediately feel the presence of God and the warmth of a loving community. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted not just with smiles—but with genuine care and spiritual intentionality. The worship is powerful, Holy Spirit-led, and unashamedly passionate for Jesus. You can tell it’s not performance—it’s real worship, led by people who are there to glorify God, not themselves. The teaching is grounded in Scripture, delivered with boldness and love, and challenges you to grow deeper in your faith. Whether you're new to Christianity, returning after time away, or already walking with Christ, you'll be both encouraged and convicted. The people here are down-to-earth, welcoming, and on fire for Jesus. It’s not about religion—it’s about relationship. If you're in Whitby (or anywhere nearby) and hungry for more of God, I highly recommend The River.

A while ago my church changed most of their pastoral staff and I did not like the new direction the church was taking. I was floundering, looking for a church that was going to meet my needs. Enter The River. The River was everything that I needed and more. My soul was happy. I was getting filled, while searching and praying for a new church. My children are not church goers. I pray for them continuously. My oldest child finally, after realizing that some friends attend The River, decided to attend with me!. My mother heart was praising God. I got to The River early. My child had some errands to do, and came after me. He unfortunately was the first in line asked to wait outside. This being his first time, I was afraid that he would get upset standing in a long line alone and leave. I asked the volunteer, Sarie, if I could bring him in. She was so rude. I understand it was a crazy night, but I just wanted my son to come to church. I also understand that I might have been the 50th person to ask the same question, but to me, it was my first time asking. I did not know. I also know that she is not responsible for my PTSD but her acting like my ex-husband was triggering. PTSD is not cool to have. I know that she does not know my story, but I know that a little kindness or a friendly tone goes a long way. I know that I was so upset, I cried. The shelter and safety that I had been feeling at The River was suddenly shattered. I am debating returning. If I see Sarie again, my PTSD will recall her and I do not want that happening. I am heartbroken.

This star rating is not for the worship at the river or for the pastoral care! those are not the issue. My concern is with how the seating was handled. I came early and was in line, so I expected to choose my seat. But someone who arrived much later during the worship told me to move, and I was dragged to the back. It was embarrassing and very upsetting. Respecting order and those who come early should be part of the experience too.
