I visited on the Sunday the Priest, Johanna was leaving. The message was encouraging and insightful and I enjoyed the hymns even though I'm not Anglican. What was disappointing though was the general coldness of the parishioners. Out of 30 something people, only one person came up to me to say hi and have a brief conversation. One invited me to the back for refreshments and the priest of course introduced herself. I smiled and made eye contact with others but it seemed like people just didn't know how to say hi to guests? Multiple times it was mentioned that the congregation was dwindling and unfortunately, I'm not surprised as to why. The congregation should make more of a joint effort to approach and draw in newcomers so that they feel loved on and welcomed back into coming again. It's a sad thing when even churches don't know how to practice the gift of hospitality...

Had a funeral here for a dear friend. Rev. William and the members of St. Mark's made us feel welcomed. As an English major 50 years ago, I quie enjoyed the writings of Farley Mowat, it was touching to stand by his grave and offer a thank you for the gift of his words to myself and countless other students.

Very churchy. How do you rate a church? My son attends boy scouts here, the place is large, warm and clean. Very nice gardens and an old cemetery around the side. Can't find the labyrinth, so it's either gone or the maker didn't understand that you're supposed to have a hard time finding your way out of it, not finding it at all.

Visited the grave site of my favourite childhood author: Farley Mowat. Historical Bonus - the cemetery at this church also is the burial site of Canada's 1st Canadian born Governor General: Vincent Massey. This site is a true gem.
