A couple we know who had lived in Camden East for decades decided to move back to the wife's home country. The wife as an expression of gratitude organized a going away party and invited a large group of friends and neighbours. The question to be answered was where to hold the party? They were lots of alternatives but what they did was to select the St. Luke's Anglican Church Hall. This choice was a good one. There was lots of room to meet the many people who came to say goodbye. There was also lots of space for the many tables and chairs when people sat down to enjoy a wonderful dinner. It also expressed how much everyone will miss the departing couple. The selection of a church hall also reflected a feeling of old time, friendly neighbourliness.
