The sanctuary is a marvel of architecture and art. It would be wonderful if they returned the original image to preside over the altar. While the new, modern image is certainly eye-catching, the history and affection that the people of Piedras Negras and their Catholic communities hold for the original image cannot be compared. Additionally, the sanctuary has a bookstore where you can purchase souvenirs or religious items.

It's a Catholic church, apparently the most important in the city of Piedras Negras. The building is listed in the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History) catalog. Its exterior is covered in pink quarry stone, in the style of colonial buildings, and its interior displays religious art and religious images. It faces the main plaza and is undoubtedly one of the first things people see after crossing the international bridge.

It's very good, although it gets hot in the back pews 🥵 You just have to arrive a few minutes before Mass starts because you won't find any seats. I like it better when Father Romero leads it, with all due respect. …

If you're looking for a moment to connect with God, find respite from your troubles, have a conversation, or simply take a brief pause in your life, God's house is always the best place, and if it's the house of His Mother, you can be sure you'll be warmly welcomed. Furthermore, the Sanctuary is a historical and cultural landmark of any city, and this one is no exception. Visit it!

The oldest church in Piedras Negras. Very well preserved. I hope the municipality will once again allow parking in front of the church around the plaza. It's a public asset that should never have been prohibited.
