  If you value history or Catholic faith, this is a place you shouldn't miss if you visit or pass through Caborca. A church built in 1893 by none other than the Jesuit priest Francisco Eusebio Kino, whose work remains impressive to this day. The church still bears the bullet holes it sustained during the town's defense against an attack by American invaders. Few places combine such historical and religious significance. A visit is highly recommended, and taking photos is a must. There is no entrance fee; it's a wonderful place, completely free for everyone.

  Wow, Pueblo Viejo and its Temple, with all the history inside and out... Look for a certified guide to give you this tour; I recommend Israel Nava. He's so passionate and immerses you in the history, making you feel like you're back in time. But today, enjoy the story as he tells it to you and pay attention to all the incredible details. It's a clean and well-maintained place, a true Temple to experience and enjoy! Walking inside and seeing the images, the meanings simply at the entrance, the history etched into its walls, the symbolism within, the images, sculptures, and art in general that are still preserved is beautiful.   What can we say about this important national historic monument, located in the land where I was born: Caborca, Sonora. This temple has its origins as a mission of the Jesuit priest Father Francisco Eusebio Kino who, along with other Jesuits, began the evangelization of these warm Sonoran lands by building several missions in the Pimería Alta. Many of them were left in ruins due to the expulsion of the Jesuits by the Spanish crown. Later, they were retaken by the Franciscans who rebuilt the missions, and one of them is this one: Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of Caborca, built on the banks of the Concepción River. Over the years, the temple has been damaged by the river's currents. In 1857, history says that this temple was the scene of the heroic defense of Caborca ​​against previous filibusters from the United States. Its walls bear the marks of that battle, which is why this temple is a national monument. It's very well maintained. The board of trustees has done an excellent job preserving the site. It's also open to Catholic worship, with Masses on Saturdays and Sundays. Surrounding it is a monumental plaza where families visit. This church is very similar to San Javier del Bac, south of Tucson, Arizona; the same architects designed it. Its shape makes it a very photogenic place from any angle, and it proudly stands in Caborca. During the week, there are guided tours of the interior of the church led by certified guides. There's also a museum attached to the church, showcasing the magnificent history of this place, also known as the "old town temple."
