It's a very old village, and nearby there are several caves, such as Comanche Cave and Devil's Cave, which are easily accessible by foot or car. We personally went on a trail and really enjoyed the hiking routes.

This place is magical. The 300-year-old roof is amazing.

Beautiful church, Jesuit mission. A vibrant, participatory community.

It is a very beautiful church with a great history, from the time it took to build, the design and painting on the ceiling, which I was told is Art Novo, with its architecture and very impressive wooden doors.

Inside the church was a quarry stone inscribed with the date August 2, 1700, likely the date of its completion. The church walls were painted over, obscuring the original paintings, which depicted vines about a meter above the floor. Only the paintings on either side of the arch separating the altar from the nave remain intact; these feature two cherubs, one on each side, holding long trumpets. Many of the original wooden panels with their original paintings are still visible on the ceiling. It is the oldest church in the region. I don't know why the church bells were replaced with copper ones; the original bells were made of gold and were 6 to 7 centimeters thick. I believe that, as relics, they should remain in their original location.

A very important historical site, it could be an excellent place for community recreation and tourism if properly adapted.

I lived in Santa Maria de Cuevas; there are some people there who are not worth mentioning. They have an organization that no one would wish on anyone; they think they are better than they are, and like in all those rural places, there is too much ignorance.

An extraordinary place, the ceiling ceiling is unique in the Mexican Republic, a jewel.
