  Speaking as both a long time member and the Youth Leader for this church, Durham Christian Fellowship is a wonderful place for spiritual growth that welcomes you as family. There's a daycare for kids on Sunday morning, after worship, and the message is always applicable to our lives as well as if spiritual food for thought. Our numbers are always growing, despite being a small church of over 70 strong, but if you're looking for a church that will love you and make you feel at home, with lots of volunteer opportunities in media, children's Sunday daycare, Youth, and Young adults, Durham Christian Fellowship is the place to be. Youth Group (Time and Day) For those of you wondering, our Youth Group meets on Wednesdays at 8 pm at the church. We often play sports or boardgames, have a mini message with a discussion, followed by more games until the parents come to pick up their teens. So feel free to come on out and give it a try!! "Why the rainbow with the Youth Poster?" The rainbow illustrates for us is God’s gracious and grand purpose of redemption to not only spare Noah and his family but also to give humanity chance to start again. It also reminds us of Christ, who came to us in our darkest our of need, who died and rose again, and gave us a second chance.

  If you truly want to know what a relationship with Jesus feels like - this is the place to be. The Holy Spirit is alive here 24/7.. 365 days a year & Encounter Durham is on to something, leading the way and setting the tone one day at a time. I highly, highly suggest Encounter Durham to newcomers in the Durham / Toronto region & in general for those who want to feel God’s grace, love and power!! (Oh .. and the worship team — they are as professional as it gets man !!!)

  There was a time not too long ago when I was going through one of the hardest spiritual battles of my life. Family struggles, pain, and trying to hold on for my children left me feeling empty. With the little bit of faith I still had, I picked up the phone and called different churches, hoping someone would listen. Most brushed me off, and with every call I felt more alone. Then, I called Encounter Durham. I will never forget that moment. I spoke with Pastor Jhon, and through tears I told him, “My faith has asked me to find a church… would you accept me? Would you take the time?” I was desperate. Instead of being dismissed, I was met with warmth, kindness, and hope. His words that day reminded me that God still saw me, even in my brokenness. He invited me to come that Sunday, and for the first time in a long time, I felt a little spark of peace. The next day, my children and I walked into Encounter Durham. From the moment we entered, we felt embraced—not judged, not pressured, but truly loved. People welcomed us with open arms and genuine hearts. It wasn’t about rules or appearances, and it wasn’t about “selling a ticket.” It was about belonging, about growing in faith, about being God’s family. That day, something shifted in me. I found hope again. I found a place where my children and I could be held in love while growing spiritually. And I will never forget the way God used one phone call, one pastor, and one church to remind me that He had never let go of me. 💜
