Nelson during the April 2024 general conference, it will be the 25th temple in the country and the third in the state of Chihuahua. The temple will be located at the corner of Avenida de la Cantera and Avenida Real Escondido, Reserva Territorial la Hacienda, Chihuahua city, on a 5.87-acre site. According to the site plans released on June 9, 2025, the temple will be a single-story building covering approximately 19,000 square feet. The closest temple to Chihuahua at the time of its announcement was the Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Mexico Temple, located about 160 miles away.
