It's my church. They . Music has its speakers turned up 1 to 2 notches too loud, but everything else is great! Lots of Bible study groups too on a flexible schedule offering.

We are new and just began attending right before Christmas. Our first impression is as many of the reviews stated - feels like family. Everyone has been friendly and kind. Last Sunday, the Pastor was doing the greeting as everyone entered, some he knew names of, but if he didn't he introduced himself. The music director (or at least he seems to be) is incredibly passionate about leading worship - each time his passion is contagious and helps to get your heart in a place of worship and a real opportunity to give thanks to the LORD. The sermons so far are biblical (as far as my limited knowledge anyway) and truthful, but encouraging. ....and as an added bonus, you walk in and smell coffee and freshly baked cookies! We have decided to call this our church home! Hope you come check it out sometime; say hello!

All ages worship here in either the early Sunday service or the later one. Mr Bill and I joined the church one year ago after watching it online as new Huntsville-ites. I LOVE the fact there are tons of college-age Sam Houston State University kids who actively worship. They seem to be cohesive and hang together in church, at small groups, in local volunteer positions and missions oriented events. Music at 2nd service (“contemporary“) is lovely albeit less noisy than our former mega church in Albuquerque (Sagebrush). Worship leaders actually lead worship as opposed to entertaining. Pastor Rogers hits the right message and tone rightly dividing the Word of God. As is most often the case in American churches, biblical accounts of admirable women one can identify with are sorely lacking. I know there are kids programs but am unable to critique them as we are old and empty nesters. New people can join a 6 week small group to get going on their journey. Other small groups offer sound teaching and more personal fellowship. There are short term missions opportunities, but not a lot, and nothing long term for missions that I can see. COVID may have interfered with Women’s Ministry because not much is happening on that front. UHBC offers opportunities to support local kids in crisis, school teachers, university students, prison ministry, homeless ministry, and others. There are several hundred regular worshippers. I’d say the church is multiplying the kingdom in a good way, pleasing our savior Jesus.

UHBC is a bible teaching church, Pastor Richards keeps it real, the church members are welcoming, nice, and want you to come back for worship and praise. Overall, I believe they have hearts and desires to make Jesus known and spread the love and gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Grace, peace and blessings UHBC!
