I have absolutely loved this church from the moment I stepped in freshmen year in fall of 2022. They have loved me well through so many high’s and low’s. They have made San Marcos be the place I call home. I’ve never been able to be more transparent than here and still be loved for me. I especially love that as college students we are surrounded by people of all ages so that we can count on the wisdom of others and also get an opportunity to be an example for younger kids. If you are thinking of joining a church, this is a good one to join! I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I love this church so much! The worship team is amazing, everyone is so kind, and the preaching is fantastic. Always biblically sound and real. I highly recommend getting connected with their house churches (Bible studies) to help build your community. Also they have such an amazing college ministry and are growing their young adult ministry!! A church with a place for all, I cannot recommend enough 🤍

I have been a part of this church family for 6 years, and it is the most Christ-like, missional community I have ever been a part of! I am an overseas missionary formed and sent from the Well, and they have been such an amazing sending church! The Lord has used this community to grow me in my faith and to lead me into greater dependence on Jesus! This church has a strong scriptural base and a heart for the campus, the city, and the world! We have such an amazing community! I love my church home!

There are so many incredible things I could say about this church!!! From the moment we walked in our first Sunday there, we were greeted with joy, prayer, and so much love and acceptance. When we came back for our 2nd Sunday, every person we had met a week before remembered our names and welcomed us into what is now our church home family. Being a part of this church and our house church has changed my life with Jesus, my marriage, and restored my faith coming from previous church hurt. When the people here say you’re family, they mean it and it is so special. They are also right next to the college Texas State and man I wish I would’ve had something like this as my college home church years ago, life would’ve looked so beautifully different and been so full!!!

There are so many amazing things about The Well, but one thing that stood out to me most is how at home you feel the moment you walk in! From my very first visit, I felt so welcomed and loved. We love the well, quality human beings pursuing Jesus. Pastor Chris is an honest, refreshing, engaging, revelation in a world that shies away from the hard subjects, the well tackles them head on and what love looks like played out monday-saturday not just on sunday mornings. We also appreciate all the community outreach done by the well and the fiscal honesty and openess they operate with. The community groups (house churches) are also great possibly one of the best parts about the church.

I’ve never felt more seen and known by a church and its members. I truly found a home here and highly recommend the Well to anyone who is looking for a church home. The doctrine is sound and is truly a Bible based church in which Jesus is glorified. We go through various chapters or books a month while also staying true to what the Bible actually says and there is a high encouragement on actually bringing your Bible. But don’t fear, because if you don’t have one the Well would love to give you a free one, they say it every service. We meet at 9:15am or 11:00am and if you read this and decide to come I would love to meet you! Just look for the guy in the belt buckle with a guitar! Also in this church you will be encouraged to join a house church (life group) to meet and convene with over the course of the semester in which you will truly be known and uplifted on a weekly basis! There is a seat for you here and the Well wants to help you to know the character of Christ and understand the Bible and ultimately encourage you to let Christ’s name being spread to the campus of Texas State, the city of San Marcos and to the ends of the Earth or where ever you may end up in life. I’ve never felt more welcome or seen amongst a group of believers! The Well is truly a church where you can come as you are, hear the truth of the gospel spoken over you every Sunday, feel the conviction of the the Lord calling you to turn from your sin, and rest in his Goodness and Mercy! I’ve been going to The Well since my first week of freshman year. A friend invited me, but it’s the love and community that has kept me coming back ever since. What I love most is that it’s not just a college church, it’s truly multigenerational. You get to worship alongside little kiddos, college students, young families, and the young at heart all together. There’s something really beautiful and powerful about seeing different generations all worshipping God in the same space. It is a constant reminder that God’s family is bigger than just my season of life.

It’s not everyday that you come across a church as relational as this one. The Well is a rare gem and so is the pastor. Though I know the pastor fairly well, today was my first time visiting the church. The love was overwhelming. I was greeted and welcomed with big smiles and friendly tones . Nothing feels better than to have your presence acknowledged in a church. There are plenty of opportunities to get connected, meet new people, serve, and make Jesus known. God is definitely in the midst here. Count me in.
