This has been an absolutely wonderful experience. We took in some toys for children for the Christmas holidays, and it's just again wonderful to be able to do something like this. And thank you to the staff at The Salvation Army.

You need to hire people with empathy and customer skills. I just called about rent help for the 3rd time and help for item for apartment. Every time they don't have funds for me but they gave them to people whom are been evicted. They asked the reason why I need help but it's not what you say it's how you say it . I never said needed help I'm trying to see just in case I need it .

I am biased towards the Salvation Army, but this location is special. They have a men's shelter that really focuses on getting people back on their feet. I understand that they will eventually ope a women's side, as well. The new Lieutenants here really have great hearts! If every Salvation Army provided all the services this location does, there would be no need for many of the other non-profits in their areas.

The staff is amazing and that is not saying enough. It was such a relief to have somebody on my team when i wanted to give up but couldn't because my family depended on me finding the solution. I am eternally grateful to the staff up at Salvation Army.

Extremely racist and bias towards an educated black person entering the establishment. I was told that I couldn't read, I was told that I had a lack of comprehension skills, I was made to wait 30 minutes while the service tenant had a full non work related conversation and texted on his cell phone and when I finally turned my intake paperwork I was denied and told I had an attitude because I refused to accept being insulted. First impression is everything and for this to be my first day in Sherman Texas I sure don't feel welcomed at all. But don't worry the mayor's office was notified, I ran for mayor in Georgia I know exactly how "the system" works.

Was a bit rude when I asked about the Christmas angel tree program. I really needed help and to have someone make me feel like she did last week. I say please hire good hearted people for these types of placed. It is embarrassing enough that I'm struggling as a single mom. I didn't need her to make me feel more low. I got no help for Christmas and was met with rudeness.

I liked nothing about that place. I was down and out, homeless due to a back injury, as soon as they figured out that I couldn't work they kicked me out. Left me to the streets, No money , No food , No help perio 710 years later I now own my own home again and all is great no thanks to them.

Scam...evil director will force you to register with labor ready (her friends) as means to pay your 10.00 a day stay...you'll be sent to work trash truck/garbage job...if you don't register. ..she will have screaming fit on you and kick you out...even if you have a job elsewhere besides with her friends at labor ready.
