I'm grieved. I left concerned rather than nourished. The pulpit was used more for jokes and personal anecdotes than for opening Scripture, and the seriousness of sin, repentance, and the state of our souls was largely absent. The messages were consistently sweet, but lacked the salt Scripture calls the church to be—truth that preserves, confronts, and sanctifies. Beyond the sermon, the adoption of corporate language and structure—“staff,” “executive pastor,” layered leadership titles, and prominent self-promotion—felt more aligned with the world than with the New Testament vision of the church as a body of brothers and sisters. Scripture does not elevate personalities or platforms, yet faces and titles are foregrounded while Christ recedes. The emphasis on social programming such as Galentine’s and bingo nights further reflects a church that seems unsure of her identity and power as the Bride of Christ—substituting formation with activity. When leadership appears self-installed and professionalized, complete with salaries and branding, the church risks becoming an institution sustained by image rather than a people sustained by truth. This trajectory affirms, but does not disciple.

This is a Bible-centered, Gospel-preaching, really welcoming church that immediately felt like home the first time I walked in. Pastor Chad Bailey is a great teacher and a good man, as are the rest of the men and women who serve in leadership roles. For any young families in the area looking for a church home, I can’t recommend The Mill highly enough!

Great church with great people, they make you feel very welcome. Easy to get involved if you want to. Great Bible studies and small group options. My sons love kids ministry on Sunday mornings as well.

The Mill has been a blessing to our family. We are growing spiritually and my relationship with Jesus Christ is the best it has been in my lifetime. I owe that to the discipleship and investment the members have committed to our family. If you want to go to church where you are noticed and aren’t just another person in the crowd, The Mill is for you.

You won’t find a more Christ loving and caring group of people. There is Expository preaching of God’s word, Truth taught and handled in grace, and community centered around love and fellowship. We have found home.
