The Gathering is a Protestant church located in Oak Ridge North, TX, with a strong emphasis on pursuing God’s presence and preparing His people for His mission in the world. Founded in 2020, the church began with three families meeting for prayer and has grown into a community that values authentic relationships, in-depth Bible teaching, and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. The church offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where visitors can expect to experience worship, prayer, and personal ministry. Sunday worship gatherings begin at 10:30 AM and include a time of prayer, public Scripture reading, communion, and Bible teaching. Children are welcomed with age-appropriate activities during the second hour of the service. What to Expect.
The Gathering also hosts home gatherings, known as Lighthouses, where members and guests can connect in smaller groups for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. These gatherings are open to all and occur seasonally in the Spring and Fall. Join a Home Group.
The church is led by Pastor Dan Sanders and his wife, Laura, who oversee worship, prayer, and next-gen ministries. The leadership team includes Elders Robert & Linda Strickling and Ken & Sue Williams, who bring diverse backgrounds in ministry, business, and education. Our Leadership.
The Gathering is committed to equipping its members for God’s mission through adult classes, youth programs, and special conferences. Teenagers meet on Monday nights for fellowship and Bible study, while adults attend Sunday night classes for deeper spiritual growth. Equipping Gatherings.

Amazing Church!!!! God’s Holy Spirit presence is present every Sunday, and when we worship, we give everything to HIM, because he is worthy of praise and worthy to be praised!!! And this church IS A FAMILY!! 😊❤️💛 Everybody is looking to build a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ! And each sermon goes in depth about what the Lord is trying to communicate to us in our present day culture and in our lives. Being grounded in THE WORD and EMBRACING THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN OUR LIVES is ESSENTIAL TO OUR WALK OF FAITH! We also have a kids ministry during service for the younger kids and a youth group that meets every Monday from 6:30 to 8:30!! Hope to see you guys there!!

Originally to me, this was just my parent’s church. We’d only come because it was a vineyard plant, and we were “shopping”. But we were drawn in. The pastor encouraged my parents to go where they needed to go for spiritual growth and offered them a place to just sit and receive God in their church if they needed. That was nice. So we ditched them for a while then came back… finding that of all the places we’d seen, God was in the dwelling place of people who look for Him with sincerity and expectation. And He is there. Because the people who gather in this church are truly seeking and Loving Him, and you know what they say… seek and ye shall find. So. I choose to be there, because I always receive when I come open. The worship and the study of the word are _always_ beautiful and good. The word of God is alive and active here :) Also the people are quirky but fun, you’ll not be bored. Just ask them a thought provoking question and watch them go.. I’d challenge you to see how God made us all so differently and wonderfully by daring to Love some pretty cool people. So yeah, this is my church now, I suppose. I’m more partial to synagogue myself, but when it comes down to it, this place is closer to home than anywhere I’ve ever lived or visited, because of Him.

My wife and I believe we have found our tribe, our friends and our family of faith here at The Gathering. Every week as the Word of God is preached and taught, we are growing deeper in our understanding of the Bible. As we worship the Lord together, we enter into his presence and worship in Spirit and in Truth. We are so grateful for the emphasis on being in a community of both the Word and the Spirit. We are truly amazed by how the Lord drew us to this precious community.

The Gathering is an incredible church! The sermons are inspiring, the worship is heartfelt, and the community feels like family. It’s a welcoming place to grow in faith.

Appreciate so much, the honesty and humility with which Pastor Dan leads. His teachings are scriptural, and his heart is to strike a balance between the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. There is a genuine welcome for the broken and the lost in this gathering. The door is open to any and all, as we seek first the Kingdom and learn to live in His love together.
