It is with great care and concern that I share my experience with The Center of Worship under the leadership of Pastor Tina and pastor r. lee tate. I believe in the importance of transparency, especially when it comes to spiritual environments that should be rooted in love, truth, and biblical accountability. Unfortunately, my experience and observations point to a ministry that more closely resembles a controlling environment than a Christ-centered church. Some of the practices, teachings, and leadership behaviors raise serious concerns about spiritual manipulation and emotional control. One of the most troubling traditions is a foot-washing ritual where men are instructed to bring their wives and daughters to have their feet washed by Pastor Tate or someone he selects. This practice is not supported by Scripture in the way it’s carried out and, in my opinion, it crosses several personal and spiritual boundaries. It appears less about humility and more about symbolic control, especially when the participants are not in need of cleansing. It felt more performative than pastoral. Another deeply concerning matter is the use of young ladies, including individuals like Minister Janea Flanders, to deliver messages—often in writing—to those who have chosen to leave the church. These letters are used to shame and emotionally manipulate former members, as if leaving the ministry is equivalent to abandoning God. This is not healthy spiritual practice, especially when those tasked with carrying out these messages are still developing in their own walk with Christ. It feels exploitative and reflects a pattern of using the younger generation to do the church’s difficult or “dirty work.” Additionally, I observed a pattern of extreme loyalty being demanded toward the leadership, often in ways that blurred the line between honoring authority and idolizing it. Questioning leadership or seeking spiritual guidance outside of the ministry is strongly discouraged. Private details of members’ lives have even been shared over the pulpit—something that felt more like “Holy TMZ” than a safe place for healing. The atmosphere at times felt more like a tightly controlled group than a welcoming Christian community. By definition, a cult is “a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister.” Sadly, several elements of this ministry align with that definition. While I do believe there are people within this church who are sincere in their faith, I urge anyone considering attending to approach with discernment. Ask questions, pray deeply, and pay attention to how leadership handles accountability, personal boundaries, and the freedom of spiritual growth. My hope is that every believer finds a church home that is safe, scripturally sound, and led by those who reflect the humility and heart of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, in my experience, The Center of Worship did not embody those things.

I haven't cried and felt so moved in a church in years. (Stopped going because the ones I went to locally seemed to be far too superficial.) I met a wonderful lady, Sereta, who is a worship leader, at a spin class and she introduced me to some other Women of Faith at a brunch a few weeks later, where I met one of their pastors, Pastor Tina. She is tiny but her passion for Christ radiates. Finally went in person and the love, light, and grace here 🙌 just enveloped me. If you need praise, if you are down or weary, this place will fill you with the holy spirit. Really.

A Concerned Review of The Center of Worship under Pastor Tate's Leadership The Center of Worship, under the guidance of Pastor Tate “Reggie”, presents a facade of spiritual refuge and enlightenment. However, beneath the surface, the experiences shared by many, including myself, tell a different story—a story of emotional turmoil and spiritual manipulation. Pastor Tate, who leads the congregation, exhibits behaviors that starkly contrast with the virtues of understanding, compassion, and humility one would expect from a spiritual leader. His tendency towards passive aggression sets a tone of discomfort and unease. This, coupled with a pervasive sense of moral superiority, alienates those who seek solace and guidance within the church's walls. It is profoundly troubling to witness Pastor Tate's use of guilt-tripping as a means of control. His adeptness at manipulation, often manifested through the silent treatment towards non-compliant members, serves as a testament to his emotional immaturity. Such actions not only harm individual members' spiritual journeys but also undermine the collective faith and unity of the congregation. I have personally spoken with Pastor Tate in front of his Mac officers, regarding the iniquity that has set up in his heart and his mistreatment of members within the congregation… But to no avail. I told him on multiple occasions that his actions are MESSY. Moreover, Pastor Tate's reluctance to apologize, coupled with his defensive demeanor when confronted with his wrongdoings, further cements the perception of a leader who lacks empathy and self-awareness. The realization that the man, Reggie, claiming to be a servant of God could sow such discord and misunderstanding among good, righteous individuals is disheartening. The division brought about by Pastor Tate's leadership—pitting husbands against wives, parents against children, and members of the congregation against one another—is a stark deviation from the church's mission. The loss of trust and the sense of betrayal felt by many, including respected figures like Brother Ken and Sister Freida, Elder Jackson, the Marshall family, the Chapman’s, Brother Paul, Brother Lollis and family, the Tucker family, Brother Austin, Elder Culbreath, the Logan’s, Minister Shelvin, the Greer family, the Thompson family, Sister Smiley, Deacon Bunton, the Murray’s, now Elder Gibson, countless more and myself, signify a deep-rooted issue that extends beyond mere personal grievances. Pastor Tate's portrayal of himself as a figure to be served, mirroring divine reverence, alongside his dismissive attitude towards salvation and the pursuit of financial gain at the expense of his flock, paints a grim picture of a leader far removed from the teachings of Christ. His ambition to create disciples loyal to his every command rather than followers of Jesus' teachings is a misdirection of the congregation's faith and devotion. In closing, while Pastor Tate's leadership at The Center of Worship has undoubtedly led to a crisis of faith among many, it also serves as a call to reflection and action. It is a reminder of the importance of vigilance, accountability, and the true meaning of spiritual leadership within our church. For those who have yet to witness the truth of these words, those who turn a blind eye and those enduring the suffering in Jesus’ name, I extend my deepest sympathy and hope for enlightenment. Let this review serve not as a condemnation, but as a hopeful plea for redemption, understanding, and a return to the path laid out by Jesus Christ. In the face of adversity, let us stand firm in our faith and commitment to righteousness, always seeking the light even in the darkest of times. Unfortunately, the posterior release hole tendencies permeating from the pulpit have gotten too much to continue overlooking. Reggie, it is almost mind blowing to see the amount of people who the more they, “REALLY,” get to know you the more they, REALLY,” wish they never knew you. It is time for the Persona’s to PCS, permanent change of service.

No consideration for the people who live around them. Blasting music!!!! Saw the police was called and went there twice asking them to lower the music. Is was peaceful and quiet for maybe an hour and back they went to bladting their music out there with large speakers. They don't care and have NO CONSIDERATION for those who live around them. Today is Sunday July 1st 2018. Been out there all day. Is almost 730pm and they out there being loud as hell!!!! They can have all the fun they want with music but not that loud. My walls are vibrating from their loud music. This is horrible. This isn't the first time either.

I joined COW back in 2014.i have been blessed in many areas of of life. I haven't been in a while. I miss them so much. pastor Tate is awesome.

Such a wonderful and holy place to receive the word of God and to feel the Holy Spirit. I would love for anyone who know God or don't know God to visit this place. I really enjoyed the worship.
