  I am so extremely upset my 7 year old son was turned away because my mom (who has had multiple major surgeries) was late! They did not allow my son in to kids church because it was a “security” thing! Both my parents are pastors kids and I have been in church my whole life and never have I had anyone turned away from church. There was a guest there today with kids the same age and were also turned away. It breaks my heart for people that may not know God for their kid to be turned away from kids church. My son is old enough to know he is being turned away. The other kid may not know God and the mom may had been distracted and couldn’t learn about God. And this isn’t the first time either. That is not what Jesus do and is not right for a church to do that. Someone should be there to walk kids back that are late if it’s a safety issue. Not tell kids happy to go to church that they can’t go in.

  I just don't understand the negative reviews, Pastor David Brown is the best! We moved to waxahachie and was looking for a new church home, we tried several before attending the avenue. Pastor Brown teaches true christian values, he adheres to the teaching of Jesus. I truly look forward to every sermon.

  Church service was going pretty good until the main pastor came back from his vacation Oct.26-Nov.2 he came back and straight talked about money and giving to the church cause that’s what God wants. I totally understand trying to raise money but when 2 services are solely based on giving to the church is insane. It’s why exactly people don’t want to go to church. We recommend it to a family member due to her wanting to change her views and beliefs on Christianity. Not only was she very disappointed in both services, but it proved her exactly right on her views. Will not be attending again.

  I haven't gone to service here yet however we joined today for the Easter event. The Easter event was amazing. Pony rides, petting zoo, train ride, Easter egg hunt, bouncy houses, and a picture with the Easter Bunny.

  The nation is finally returning to God via the younger generations ( under retirement age) The people are not too intimated to lift their hands and hearts in praise worship . Vibrant music good sermons, good people. I'm beyond the age of most if not all the congregation. It's definitely not the "God in a box" churches of the past generations. I'm going back this morning for my second visit.

  Ive attended The Avenue Waxahachie for a year March 19, 2023. Ever since I stepped inside the door, Ive felt "at home," a feeling Ive never really felt at my other church. I saw no "cliques." Im sure there are some, but its not at all felt! At the time, I needed a change bc my life was falling apart. People embraced me & I made friendships the first day! The second Sunday I signed up to volunteer! I also got connected with a small group & joined the Celebrate Recovery program. The music is upbeat & draws you in (wish it was longer), yes the lights are bright, but how do we think worship will be in Heaven? I think itll be like that, only better! Pastor David speaks on a personal level in ways we understand, sometimes the message hits you in the gut, but in a good way. It IS scripturally based, which I read on another review, that it wasnt. My 90 yr old dad is from a strict Southern Bapt background, he taught Bible & was a Sunday School teacher for 30 yrs. it takes alot to impress him & he likes to critique pastors. Its hard for him to get around bc he has issues with his legs, but he gets up early to go with me to church. He LOVES Pastor David & his teachings. Hes even opened Daddy's eyes on some things that he THOUGHT he knew!!! Anyway, its all in what you like, how you perceive what "church" is. Some people like/love it, others do not. In my experience, God directed me to this church, thus my life was changed. So what is different from other churches that Ive attended? I believe its the LOVE that is shown to others, the acceptance that ALL people have issues & there are "avenues" to get help. If youve tried this church before & you had a bad experience, please try it again.

  I've loved coming to the Waxahachie church from the 1st time I visited. I love the people's hospitality and friendliness. You're welcomed in the parking lot and entering the building. The pastors always have my attention. I just love waking up on Sunday knowing in coming to hear the word of God at the Avenue church.

  We were deluged with greetings from the parking lot, through the foyer and into a dark auditorium with friendly, but rehearsed army of assigned greeters. If you like very loud music with flashing lights in your eyes so dark you cannot recognize anyone, for a 45-minute service, you will be right at home. At no time did anyone sitting around us showed any friendship, although the ushers were very helpful. The stage musicians were very professional and talented, resembling a concert, but in no way could it be said that the congregation was lead into WORSHIP. The musicians were enthusiastic and impressive. According to my observation, 90% of the people stood silent and motionless as if being entertained, and not brought into any noticeable spiritual intimacy with God. The pastor’s message on prayer was enlightening, but short on time and shallow on more supporting Scripture. There was no Gospel message presented to unbelievers or an altar call to offer salvation from hell to heaven. If you want a quickie church service without conviction and no one making friends with you, this is the one. Apparently this type of ministry is popular as there were multiple services filled with crowds of people.

  Love this Church. Very helpful if you are ever in need. The Celebrate Recovery program is a phenomenal and uplifting experience and the recovery Pastor Alan is truly an inspiration. David Brown Lead Pastor.. just ... an awesome preacher that can connect with you on the reality of life. He does not put himself or his family above it and is absolutely anointed for his calling in every way. The entire staff is just fantastic at all times. This church is reaching out to Gods people every where.. as far as Arizona. 10 Stars for the Avenue

  I love the music! Gets you in the spirit to worship. The preaching is relevant & biblical. I've always felt comfortable there and grandkids love it & ask to go. Overall, great experience.

  I had to leave to find another church because we were ten minutes late and they wouldn't let our kids in their classes. I have never had to leave a church for this reason and I find it absolutely ridiculous. This was our second time here and didn't even know there was a cut off time. They didn't care that we left. On top of that, the first time we went the music was way too loud and I was blinded by the light show they had going on. Pretty distracting, but an old pastor of mine told me i should try a church at least 3 times before making a decision about it, but them not caring that we left makes two times enough. Very disappointed.

  We attended the service this morning and were very disappointed. The worship was so produced it was distracting. Music was so loud we couldn’t hear the voices of the singers very well. The lights were sweeping around the crowd like a rock concert. Outside of that everything was very impersonal. No one approached us to see if we were new or to show us any of the programs they offer or to tell us anything about the church. So much money poured into the building and the production but it appears very little of the production is being used for its true intended purpose.

  Thee ONLY reason I gave it a one star is because trust was broken in a small group.. expressing my grief and what's goin on and it was misconstrued and someone from the church called the cops for a welfare check. Not one person asked if I'm ok though and I'm far from suicidal, I was testifying to it not saying I was even wanting to indulge in dying. I love my life, I love God. I love my children

  I've gone to this church my entire life.. So when Easter rolled around this year, I was excited to bring my kids and Grandpa with me. However after my experience I dont know if I'll ever be back. The younger usher that was working the 11am service was so incredibly rude and argued with me when me and my grandpa had to sit a few rows back from the front. I told him that the music is too loud for my my grandpa's hearing aid and it hurts his ears. The usher proceeded to argue with me saying that's not allowed! in front of everyone over and over. Then when I told my grandfather " I'm hoping the usher also sits in on the service because it seems like he needs it today" He walks back over and starts trying to tell me off LOUDLY in front of everyone...Then when I go pick up my 3 year old from the toddler room, the child care person in front of other parents tells me how bad my child was not once but twice, with a disgusted look on her face! I dont know what has happened to this place, but I hope they start choosing the people that are the face of the church more wisely. On Easter .. really??

  IF you like regimented constraints of religion, which is man-made, and only thrive for God in a legalistic environment, this is not the place for you. But if you want to learn about, grow in and deepen your relationship with the Savior...This is the place for YOU! The heartfelt music prepares you for the simple yet challenging message weekly. Come with a open heart and open mind and see what God has in store for your life. FYI: I have just been attending for a few months and this is not a solicited review, incase anyone was wondering.
