I got lost yesterday when Apple Maps led me really far off course from the church I was looking to visit, so I went here instead since it was the nearest I could reach in time. The people were friendly at first, and it quickly seemed like just another run of the mill small Pentecostal church. When the altar call came, one of the ushers wouldn't let me refuse to go up and convert, dragging me right in front of the pastor to kneel at the base of the podium. That was the moment when I knew that I was never coming back. I went through the motions in order to not cause a scene and dipped immediately after that, hoping he and the pastor wouldn't notice until they started looking for me to talk about next steps. This church doesn't even try to hide that they don't believe that your consent is required for a genuine conversion and that they see you as nothing more than a mark. If you're looking for a church go somewhere else. I regret ever coming here.

Doesn't seem welcoming, people started complaining at the door ironically, went to go to church with my daughter as my family attends, in an attempt to get me to join and was told I had to leave all valuables in the front while everyone else took theirs in, there might be a reason the congregation isn't growing, people out fears and biases in front of making people feel welcome, I will be telling my family to find a new church based in this, it is ironic I was the only black person there, way to encourage people's faith, over the years i have worked in ministry and I have never seen a church that tells you to leave your wallet and keys with a stranger, great first time visit though
