I have been a member at Sylvania for 18 years. We’ve weathered some storms together. But this place is home and these are my people. I was drawn to Sylvania because of the strong pulpit, expository preaching, sound doctrine… and that has stayed consistent in my time there. But they will know us by our love, friends. I have had the opportunity to love and be loved in this precious community. Missions and service is not just something we talk about. It’s what we do. I don’t know many at our church who aren’t serving in some capacity. Don’t get me wrong. There is not a perfect person here and we’re certainly not a perfect church. We’re a bunch of wretched sinners who have been rescued and are being transformed and hoping for heaven. And there’s always room for another to join us in that endeavor.

This church is an amazing place to worship. From the Christ centered music, to the truth consistently preached from the pulpit, to the various ministries to the focus on community! If you’re looking for a true, genuine, Christ honoring body of believers, this is the place for you! My family and I have been attending for 10 years! Come join us!

Sylvania is a wonderful community of faith where my wife and I worship our Creator. For 10 years, we have experienced genuine fellowship and encouragement there from our friends, teachers, elders, and pastor. Sylvania is a body of believers whose passion is to follow Jesus Christ. We love it there.

What a great combination of good, strong, gospel-centered, Christ-honoring, Reformed preaching, and a blend of traditional/Contemporary music. Musc was excellently led without being showy. It led us into heartfelt worship. The preaching was as clear as could be, and the main preaching pastor was even out of town.

If you are looking for a church with solid Bible teaching this is a great place to be. I live in Los Angeles right now, so this is not my home church or even a place where I grew up going to church. So I don't feel a need to write a good review to boost attendance. It's simply always an encouragement to attend Sylvania when I'm back in Texas visiting family. Even though I am not a "regular" they always make me feel welcome and provide accurate biblical exposition you can live out.

Sylvania has been a breath of fresh air for us for years. We came because of the sound preaching and theology. We stayed because of the warmth of the people and their desire for true biblical community.

After several attempts to reach someone there I finally had a meeting with the youth pastor my son and I set there poured our entire hearts out I thought that the people there were different at first he was willing to help us at least get something cheap to eat that day he went and talked to the regular lady I guess who is the secretary she had just came back while we were talking and then all of a sudden he comes back and takes my name and phone number his exact words I will make sure I get in touch with you by the end of the day never heard from them again is getting more and more ridiculous when you can't even trust people at church this is the reason why people are losing faith not wanting to be lied to and look down on

As Christians we are to feed the poor and help people who are in need. Feeding the needy is part of serving one another and as we serve others we are serving Christ. Sylvania Church Food Pantry takes to heart the beckoning on Christ to serve.
