We Love Stonewater Tolar! We attended the Granbury campus, which is also great and filled with wonderful people. Tolar is smaller and more intimate. The people were welcoming & we quickly got involved which helps with building relationships & getting connected. It's been a blessing for our entire family.

The only reason I give this place a one star instead of no stars is because there was a very friendly parking attendant on duty. Other than that, no one else greeted us upon entering the church. The sanctuary was way too dark; I could barely see to find a seat. The final straw was that the worship team music was outrageously LOUD. It was truly impossible to join in with worship, that I had to leave.

From the first time I walked through the doors at Stonewater Church Tolar I knew this is the Chutch Family I wanted to be with. Our Praise and Worship Team is outstanding. Pastor Michael is a true Servant of Jesus. This campus of Stonewater has a high percentage of young families. Come visit and witness the love here.

My family and I were so excited to become members...everyone was very friendly and kind and inviting. We moved in the area recently from Gateway church and I was just placed on worship team. We attended regularly but unfortunately during one of our last attendances the pastor of Tolar campus was speaking, and in his sermon he spoke regarding needing volunteers for the children's ministry and how anyone can do it... he said and I quote how you could say anything and " just lie to them (the kids) they won't know the difference." Then he switched it to talking about "the lost" regarding LGBTQ. He was making fun of their pronouns and said "he, she, it, CAT, DOG...whatever you call wanna call them" I was shocked and my husband and I after prayer emailed him promptly with our concerns. He responded and said he was joking about the lieing to kids and would make it right the next sermon. No response in regards to the name calling and making fun of the pronouns. We attended the next service to keep accountability and it never happened. My husband looked for him afterwards and he was not there. When emailed again how he did not address what he said he would, He simply said if we wanted to talk we could do so privately. I felt this was very inappropriate and an act of hate and out of discomfort rather than a response of love and how to help those who may be lost. Instead of praying for them we made fun of them. Instead of following through and making it right the opposite was done. It made us uncomfortable enough to think that the leader of Tolar's heart wasn't in the right place if he jokes about lieing to kids and jokes about calling others who may be lost or different than us names. Then, it was not the place for our family. We felt he was only interested in sweeping concerns under the rug as well as not keeping his word, making inappropriate jokes, not taking care and vetting anyone for children's ministry, and not being open to everyone and loving to all irregardless of their sexual orientation as Jesus would.
