Beautiful church. The Father gave a great homily and conducted the mass very reverently. The stain glass work is really great here too. I’m just passing through but it seems like a really great parish!

Beautiful St Joseph statue in front of new church with entrance at back. Found while visiting the city. There is an address sign and Mass times posted in front of the original church which was locked. I walked from it to the new church and was told the old church is now a chapel. They also have a school and beautiful grounds. God blessed us to find St Joseph church.

Father James is the best sermon speaker in my 67 years of life. Confession schedule is wide open weekly. Beautiful facilities

I love to come here because the service and church are both beautiful! But the office people are NEVER there or they LEAVE early! Doesn’t make no sense! They need to hire people that are more reliable!

Saint Joseph chapel is a different building on the same grounds as Saint Joseph church. (Sure wish Google Maps would acknowledge this location as depart at but it won’t?) A gorgeous chapel, truly a blessing. The faithful community was a treat to attend daily mass with. A historic chapel that has served Waxahachie for over a hundred years. The windows are pieces of art!

I would not recommend the school, especially if your interest is due to religious beliefs or an advance in education. The administrators are not certified nor do they have an educational background teaching nor a principal in the state of Texas, or America. They are unaware of many educational laws and expectations and learning standards for students. They do not follow the state standards for learning nor do they follow their admissions guidelines posted. many of the students are behind a grade level or more. Whoever has the most $$ here wins if there are issues. Bullying and violent behaviors are tolerated by repeat offenders over the years. The school is very concerned about money and the low enrollment so consequences are rare for students. It’s actually a lot less strict than public school for learning and behavior expectations. Most of the teachers are not certified to teach by the state of Texas either. Father James is very absent from the school. The school has been run down over the last 3 years.

On the morning of December 3, 2025, my mother passed away. Father James had been scheduled to perform Last Rites—the sacrament of the anointing of the sick—the following afternoon. In the Catholic faith, this sacrament is profoundly meaningful, as it prepares the soul for the journey into the afterlife. For my family, it was of immense importance. When I learned my mother had passed before the scheduled time, I was devastated. While traveling to join my brother and sister-in-law, I called the church and left a message that she had already passed. To my surprise and deep relief, Father James arrived soon after my husband and I reached her room. Because her body was still warm, he was able to administer Last Rites. I will always be profoundly grateful to Father James and Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas, for this act of compassion and faith. Though I am not currently a practicing Catholic, this experience has touched me so deeply that my husband and I are considering attending Saint Joseph’s. I have also decided that I wish to receive Last Rites myself when my time comes.

Food sharing box on the E.Park St. Entrance. Put some, take some. Great idea! Helped me thru fine dark days I wouldn’t have eaten otherwise…

My wife and I have been members here for 37 years, along with our family of 3, and love our church family, leaders, and new building!
