I went to drop off donations all the way from Pflugerville at the request of Jane Collette, Carissa, Melissa given exact directions on what was their greatest needs. I rented a Penske drive there, unloaded the Penski(employee supervision) was fixing to cover with a tarp in case it rained when the employee that was supervising started yelling and pointing his finger, using profanity Ect in front of my 13 year old son. When I refused, he called Pastor Joe(thinking that would resolve conflict) That interaction could not have gotten any worse. He called local police and stated I was dumping trash on his property. While the waiting he said some very hurtful things, some so bad, I won't repeat, others consisted "A very important wedding that was to occur there today. He offered to pay me $250 to remove it and take to a dumpster. Or Goodwill. I was in tears because the hurtful things he said to me and my son felt so bad because it was his idea. He also stated that police would side with him because they knew him. 3 cop cars showed up expecting trash being dumped, when they saw my texts confirming the scheduled drop off, and that no crime had been committed they did back off of me. My son and I spent 18 hours picking up donations, repacking the box truck, used my 400. For truck rental, 2 80$ tanks of gas to be received in that matter. Our hearts were so full of our hope to help people who just experienced a horrific disaster. And to be chased away like we were peasants, not important and I quote "selfish, just thinking about me, That is a you problem" it was 3 and a half hours of a nightmare. After he saw what was in the truck he offered for us to move to the back, and in front of law enforcement, he offered $250 to cover my Penske late fees, and offered to put us in a hotel. Well if you had money for all that, why did your employees tell me that was needed. You should just have bought them yourself. I could have helped another organization that truly could have used the donations. As there are many that we met today. They offered to take them off your hands, so please let me know and I will have the "trash picked up ASAP" I hope it is not helping to allocate the big wedding. I was told it was for victims. Also, I need a receipt. You made our journey to make a difference a nightmare.

Southern Oaks Church is a Bible-based church. The 8:30 service is traditional singing hymns and a few not-so-different contemporary songs. The 10:45 service is contemporary but not super loud or radical. It is a good place to make your church home and grow in the Lord. The photos are of the music team, and the Pastor, Dr. Joe Taylor at the annual Easter "Sunrise Service" at our property on the Guadalupe River.

I recommend you visit every time you pass through Kerrville! Pastor Joe has a heart for the Lord and preaches the word. His children's sermons are fun and light hearted, he is infinitely patient with the little ones when they gather round him. The congregation is open and friendly. They all will make you feel welcome immediately. It won't take long to become part of the family If you attend regularly. Its a great place to Live, Love amd Serve our Lord. Be well, and blessed.

Amazing church! Grew up in this beautiful southern Baptist church (don't worry we all dance). Friendly people, and we are planning to expand soon. We do not dress up very much. Come as you are. Sunday 10:45 hope to see some new friendly faces!

We've attended Southern Oaks since 2011. Lots of friendly Christ followers, a bible based format, a nursery in the same building, exceptional youth & childrens ministries, an amazingly anointed pastor. You will be welcomed with sincere open arms, but not smothered. Come for a visit.

Love, not only the preacher. But the congregation. I have moved to Brackettville & watch sermons on my laptop. Wish we had songs by the 8:30 choir. I love the older hymns.
