This mega church was a great reminder as to why I will never attend any church with my family or become a member. Began my 3rd week attending a class with my wife on Wednesday evenings. Last night 01-28-2026, upon walking into the building a suspicious man wearing camouflage jacket stared at me saying hello, I said "howdy" After picking my daughter up from the child care and walking out with my wife, the camouflage man followed my family and friends to my car. He injected himself into my groups area and said "we dont allow firearms here and you're carrying one" I informed him that I am a firearms instructor under DPS license to Carry and that the appropriate signage was not posted to restrict LTC holders the right to carry. I asked him his name which was David S. David then patted me on the back (1st time is a freebie) then he concluded with 2 more pats on my back while Mr David said he was the churches "safety team" the only identification he had was a small yellow sticker on his camouflage jacket that said "Safety Team" Im not the most intelligent person in the world but if youre apart of any team that deals in safety it would be appropriate to wear something that stands out a little more to the public that youre a SAFETY MEMBER. Not a camouflage jacket with the hoodie pulled over your head. David then left only to return a few minutes later to inform me that he had texted his safety supervisor and that he is allowed to verbally ask me to leave the campus. I told David that I would be leaving and never returning with my family. South spring you should do better. If you dont want law abiding License to Carry holders carrying on the premises or in the buildings then you need to post the proper signage at EVERY entrance of EVERY building, instead of having your unprofessional, unidentifiable "safety team member" approach people in the dark and lay hands on them. Your safety team is not equipped or trained enough to mitigate outside threats, that was proven by Mr David last night.

Attended an Easter event as we were in town visiting family. This Church is beautiful & their volunteers go out of their way to really make you feel welcomed and loved. Would love to come here again.

We've been looking for a new church, and I think we've found it. The pastor is easy to listen to and relatable. Everyone was very friendly, and the church itself is beautiful. The music beforehand was great.

We visited this church today. Large Beautiful campus with clean, well maintained landscape. Large parking lot with easy access to main sanctuary. Modern looking church and large foyer with tables of donuts. Members and staff are friendly with comfortable seating. Music was good, adding a few Baptist hymns. Pastor, a teacher/ preacher , is relatable to audiences. They also have golf carts to transport people to their cars.

I've been attending SSBC for almost 9 years. A few years back, the guy I was talking to began attending, and we were married about a year and a half later by Pastor Chris. The wedding was at the outdoor wedding chapel, and we hosted our reception in the youth building (which also happens to be the place where my now-husband asked me out on our first date). I've been teaching 4th grade Sunday school since the class was in 2nd grade (moving up with them every year!). My husband and I love to usher together, attend events with the honeymooners, and (previously) were very active in re:generation. Needless to say, over the last decade, there have been so many major life events, and this church has been here for me and my family through every high and low. I can't even tell you the number of times someone has come up to me to comfort me during a dark time or just listened to me talk and cry. This church has been a safe place for me, a place where I can be authentic in my pain, questions, and desire for connection. Growing up in a very emotionally toxic family, who often used various bible passages to justify their treatment of me and others, I've had so much religion-based trauma to work through, and I'm thankful for all the mentors at South Spring who have helped me process that with patience and gentleness. I am so thankful for Pastor Chris Legg, and his wisdom. As an LPC (licensed professional counselor) and a founder of Alethia Counseling Center, he has touched me and so many dear family members and friends through his sermons, online videos, books, and founding Alethia Counseling Center (Also, shameless plug for Alethia!!! I know so many people who've had a terrible experience with a counselor before and have deeply connected with a counselor from Alethia afterward. The counselors at Alethia are incredible, and I've only heard great things from other clients). I've attended so many churches where the pastor was emotionally unhealthy or, to put it kindly, emotionally unaware. I love how Chris integrates his knowledge of the bible with his knowledge of emotional health, and I've benefitted so much from the wisdom he's shared. I could, quite frankly, write a novel about my experiences here and everything this church has done for me. There are so many things to love! They've always been so involved with the community, hosting free events throughout the year and keeping their property open for anyone to use and enjoy, even non-members. They place so much emphasis on fostering and adoption--and many of those in leadership not just advocate for but model being adoptive parents. They take hospitality VERY seriously, including having greeters and ushers, as well as doughnuts and coffee available. This church places the emphasis on all the right things. If you haven't been before, I hope you'll give it a shot. This is a wonderful place to connect, grow, and heal. And if I happen to be ushering that Sunday, be sure to say hi! :)

This church is beautiful, welcoming, and real. The worship team is on fire. Chris Legg teaches the Bible. He uses visual representation and is not afraid of the hard topics, and I love it.

I have never been to this church previous but what an incredible campus. Aesteticly modern and welcoming, a large open space for public outreach, which is how I found out about it from the Highland Games, a great event I really enjoyed. I am quite happy with my church group but I tell you, if anything ever happens this will be the first place I try. It's the kind of place you want a church in today's and age. Great experience.

To be completely transparent I have joined this church because I love everything about it!! We have great leadership, amazing teachers, fabulous facilities, and the warmest, most welcoming congregation I have experienced in many years!! It took me four years of visiting churches after I moved here to find my church home but I couldn't love it more!! Don't let the "B" word on the sign put you off - I was VERY gun shy of Baptist churches but this one is like nothing you have ever experienced!! Come see us - we would love to have you join us!!!
