This place is horrible. They lock people out in the weather with their children, even disabled and veterans. They play favoritism. And if you file an incident report, they retaliate against you. If you ever need any services from the Salvation Army, I would suggest going to Midland, don't come to Odessa.

Apparently as of Oct. 27,2025, salvation army isn't offering showers. Because the day room is being remodeled, the lady acted as though its no big deal, just no showers until further notice! For people with no shower, it is a big deal!Smh

Towed disabled veteran truck during oil show then posted no parking. This is how they treat veterans.

S . A. Won't even help themselves... Due to a rental scam I've been left homeless.. facility is closed due to lack of employees to operate .. told them I would be willing to work there if they could give me assistance... Was told that I if I work there I could not use the facilities even though all beds are open... While I'm standing on the corner begging for change maybe I can sell some of my belongings because I sure won't donate even a dirty sock to them!! Why is Odessa so greedy??

Staff, went above and beyond the assistance I inquired about, they even changed my flat tire,on my personal vehicle, by ladies, then I got a date with one, so yes very satisfied, thx you!

Why is their shelter still closed? People leaving resent reviews about the shelter are ignorant they have been closed for over a year. They need staff to open the shelter is all I hear. Midland salvation army will help. The Odessa one is a joke

They have a cooling station open some days for people who don't have anywhere to go in the heat it helps me when I'm homeless and I like that I can volunteer at the thrift store if you have donations and if you want to donate them if you want us to look then you can drop off any donations at the thrift store we will kindly accept them from you

I want to thank the nice lady who helped me with my electric bill.im having neck surgery and money is tight .thank you salvation army.god bless

They helped out with Christmas presents when we didn't have for our kids thanks lots, we appreciate it alot you made my kids happy and not only with one present but with 3-4 for each thank you thank you thank you!

Thieves! I'm a retired service connected veteran unable to work; was charged and payed upfront in full cash or money orders only, only to be forced to leave on a cold wintery morning with no portion of my monies being refunded.

The shelter does ok I suppose compared to the donations they receive. Maybe. But why does the shelter close when it's 18 degrees outside?

Didn't have anywhere to stay the night. Used there free bed, food, shower etc. very clean. Friendly.

The shelter itself is fine but the guy that runs the place has no idea what he's doing.
