  PaulAnn is a fantastic church. They have lots of programs from early childhood all the way up to seniors. They have programs throughout the year and home cell groups throughout the week. Kirt, the lead pastor, always has a great message. Kirt is always able to speak on relevant topics and and make the Bible easy to understand. He has a talent for preaching. By all standards, PaulAnn is a mega church. The Hartford Institute for Religion Research defines a megachurch as a Protestant congregation that has an average weekly attendance of 2,000 or more and PaulAnn definitely fits this bill. I believe that their worship center has a maximum capacity of 2,637 people (if I read the capacity right), and there are so many people that, as of this review, they have to have 2 services to accommodate for all the people that attend on Sunday mornings. PaulAnn has been considered a Baptist church for years, but over the last few years, PaulAnn has done away with the Baptist title in their churches name. If you were a visitor, you would never guess that they were Baptist. The title is nowhere to be found anymore. It’s not in their bulletins, not on their website or in the website name, not on their Facebook or even on their church sign. They replaced their church sign to simply say PaulAnn Church. Two of their newest buildings simply say PaulAnn Church on them. PaulAnn doesn’t do typical Baptist things or practice typical Baptist programs. However, they are still listed on the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) website as being a member as of this review. Like I said, if you had no idea that they were technically Baptist, you would have never guessed. They seem way more Non-Denominational than Baptist. If there is one area, in my opinion, that PaulAnn needs major improvement in, it’s their worship. This is actually the only reason that I knocked off one star in my review. In my opinion, PaulAnn’s worship program needs a major overhaul. If I were to blindfold you and take you to their worship service without telling you were you were at, you’d probably think that I had brought you to a rock concert, because that’s what it looks like. During the worship the lights go off. Their are lights that are affixed to the ceiling that come on. They can create different patterns, colors, and they move around among the congregation. There’s smoke machines that fill the “stage” full of smoke. Some of the worship leaders on stage jump around like they are going wild, head banging almost. I honestly thought one of the guitar players was going to smash his guitar on the stage at any moment. The clothes some of them wear are full of holes. There are camera men and women taking video on the stage capturing every moment of the “worship”, projecting it onto three massive screens around the stage. The music is loud. The list goes on, but I think you get my point. I’m worried because PaulAnn seems to be taking on the “seeker-sensitive” movement when it comes to worship. Basically, seeker-sensitive means a church tries to reach out to the unsaved person by making the church experience as comfortable, inviting, and non-threatening to him as possible. Theatrics and musical entertainment are the norm in the church service to keep the unsaved person from getting bored as he does with traditional churches. State-of-the-art technology in lighting and sound are common components of the seeker-sensitive churches, and that’s where I think PaulAnn is headed. They seem to be headed down the path of entertaining the congregation, rather than true worship. Again, this is just my opinion. Like I said, PaulAnn is a great church, but their worship needs massive improvement.

  Really loved this church 100% people there were awesome would definitely make this my church. They also supported Samaritans Purse and I’m a 100% loss in flood family. They game me hope that I had lost. Very comfortable coffee shop I could set in for hours studying the Good book.

  I love this Church. It was my first home after being saved last summer, and was the most incredibly welcoming and embracing community I could have ever hoped for. But they also challenged me to grow in Christ, and then supported me every step of the way. They hold a very special place in my heart, and part of me will always be with them, even if I never have the opportunity to return to them. I couldn't have asked for a better start down the path towards redemption, or a more supportive and loving family of believers. God bless you all, and God keep you all safe and healthy!

  I visited for some financial assistance with a utility bill and ended up signing up my 3 children for vacation bible school which they loved! The campus is huge! The secretary was a bit snooty but maybe because it's summer and she was pregnant... Pastor made me feel at ease and is a genuine person. I love to praise and worship. Hopefully I'll be able to visit on Sunday. They did extend an invite ❤️

  We attended Paul Ann this morning & were greeted with a welcoming smile & hello at the door, after entering the building we were immediately asked by another gentleman if it was our first time & it was. He then showed us around before entering the service, then after the service he stopped and talked to us again and welcomed us back.

  It's big enough to get lost in, small enough to be noticed. It is a contemporary style church with a good message and many worship options and I was even able to get a great white mocha after service. As a visitor, there is absolutely no pressure to dress up, contribute, or interact. That being said, if you are extroverted, motivated,and want to do it all, there is plenty of opportunity.

  Though I must admit this church is very beautiful the worship seemed forced. My wife and I were greeted by a man who seemed not to realize how offensive his greeting was. She is a mixed woman and he said “hola” to greet her after saying “hi” to everyone else. Some might think this is being over sensitive but unfortunately for us it is not. Overall the service was nice and the sermon had a great message of acceptance ironically.

  Thankful for this church because I live in Houston & was affected by Hurricane Harvey & the church members came to help pull out sheet rock. They were sent from God & it is a blessing to have churches who have memebers willing to help others. Thank you Phil Todd & the Paul Ann crew.   I would like to say thank you to the group that came to Houston to help clean up, the group was a blessing to my family, they helped clean debri that was left in our yard by the flood. I was not there when they went but when I saw my yard I was so happy and grateful to know that there are still generous helpful individuals in this world . Again thank you sooo much I will always be grateful for your help. May God send blessings to all the volunteers that came to Houston to help.
