I first visited Oak Grove in December 2024 and realized on that first visit what a special church home it is. As a Christian we all seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but doing that solo really deprives your soul from what Jesus intends. Being a member of Oak Grove gives me new appreciation for His words "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:20) Pastor Jon and the members of this church are so welcoming and kind. It is no wonder that I have come to feel so at home there. This church is remarkable in that it was started in 1880 by settlers who gathered under the shady trees of a nearby Oak Grove (hence the name). The sanctuary is bright and beautiful with natural light and has such a sense of peace. If you are seeking a church home that will give you fellowship as well as make you feel God's comfort and peace, then you really should come see us at Oak Grove Methodist.

I grew up in this church in the 90s and 00s and have many fond memories here. I was baptized here. It’s where the foundation of my faith began. Things seem to have changed in recent years. I was disappointed to see that they recently split from the United Methodist Church and are now part of the Global Methodist Church. This means in particular they are not welcoming of the LGBTQ+ community. I’m not part of that community but I personally believe that a church should be inclusive rather than excluding certain communities. Anyway, it’s a historic old building, just no longer aligns with my Christian beliefs.

After moving to Oak Point from out of state, my wife and I began to church shop. We tried most all of the nearby Methodist churches. This will sound like a Goldilocks story, but some were too large and not friendly. While others were just too small. For us, Oak Grove Church was just the right size. The congregation was ultra friendly, and the second time we visited we discovered that many in the congregation had even remembered our names. We found our church home.

This church has supported 4 generations in my family through weddings, births, raising children and the loss of several family members. The Bible study and sermons are totally Bible based, with practical takeaways! The members are friendly, welcoming and we have a handicap accessible facility.

We really appreciate this church because of their friendly acceptance of new comers. When we moved to Texas in 2022 we tried several churches in the area and when we found Oak Grove we knew it would be our home.

This is a wonderful, quaint, friendly, traditional church. It’s a country church in the midst of a fast growing city. You will be warmly welcomed.

I have been attending Oak Grove Methodist Church for several years and feel at home there primarily because none of the other members have tried to put pressure on me to be anyone other than myself.

Quaint little historical church. Congregation and Pastor make you feel like family. Located one block from 380 on Oak Grove Blvd (FM 720). Beautiful sanctuary perfect for a small wedding. Beautiful cemetery behind the building.

We attend Oak Grove Church as often as we can even though we live in Lewisville! The fellowship is an uplifting Sunday morning! Pastor is able to hold the attention of young & old! Worshipping with our Son & his family is very important to us! Please come for a visit or 2 & I believe you will be very happy you did! God Bless.
