My family joined this church about 14 years ago after a very lengthy process of visiting a lot of East Dallas churches. It's not the flashiest church around, but from the first time we visited we knew we had found our church home. The pastors are kind and warm and incredibly insightful. The head of children/youth education is incredible at her job and our kids love it. The music director is incredibly talented and creative while still making us feel like we're at church. The church has an incredible focus on mission which is something we find important. The congregation couldn't have been any more welcoming from the start and we now consider many of the people we have met at church to be among our closest friends.

Northridge Presbyterian Church is a wonderful place that has meant so much to our family. From the moment that we walked through the doors, as visitors, we were welcomed as family. The pastors are two of the warmest, most thoughtful, and most caring people I have ever met and their leadership is reflected through the rest of the congregation. We always felt welcome, but never pressured and we are so fortunate to have found our church home.

My husband and I have been members since before we got married 18 years ago. Northridge has always been a very welcoming congregation that serves the community as a whole as well as those who worship there. Mission and ministry have always been the priority. It is a place where people with differing opinions are always encouraged to come together to talk, listen and learn from the very capable staff and caring members.

Follow up: One member who we knew since I was a child reached out. The response by the church as an organization was to block me from their Google page. I was working out where to have a memorial service for my dad and the minister asked me why we wanted to do it in a church. Not his church but a church. I confirmed he really asked this question and he started rambling about he was wonder since they never joined a church why we would want to have a memorial in a church. What is really bad is my mother was sitting there listening to all this. My parents visited this church for many years until health kept them from going many places. I mentioned to him my mom broke her back in 2011. To clarify why this church they have lived in this neighborhood since 1968 and it would have been good closure for my mother since she will have to move after my father's death. She has happy memories of sending me to a mother's day out program there, they supported the Scout dinners and I played soccer for the Y on their fields. I left Dallas after high school and have no idea why my parents never got around to joining, but they didn't. Regardless of the church's policy on allowing a service for non members what appears to be in question is sufficient faith to have it in a house of worship and what flies in the face of espoused church acceptance is completely astonishing. We'll keep the happy memories of the people who led this church in the past, but there should be concern for current direction. The clerical leadership there now needs to address their calling to the Presbyterian ministry. Right now I'm so glad they did not ever join this band of hippocrates. My mother will be headed home with me to my congregational church in another denomination where she can experience true unqualified acceptance.

If you are looking for a small church where everyone is accepted, come visit Northridge. I joined the church 9 years ago and my spiritual journey has grown in leaps and bounds. The people are friendly, caring, non-judgemental, and have taught be so much about Christ and his Word. I also love the church because it gives me an opportunity to know so many and know that I can reach out to any of them for help, comfort and God's love.

What a great experience! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The music was great and the sermon by Rev. Betsy was excellent. You should definitely check it out if you get the chance.

We showed up because it was an Easter service close to our home. But we have stayed because of the community which is friendly, welcoming, intelligent, and active.
