I had a less than great experience here. I was pushed to attempt to reconcile with my now ex-husband, who used to beat me up and tried to kill me even after telling them that was what happened. They said, "You never know what God has planned." The God that I'm personal to would never want that for me. No one was allowed to talk about the past or anything that they had been through. We were told to basically sweep it under the rug and pretend it didn't exist. We weren't allowed to talk about wanting to go home or that we missed anyone from home, and if anyone did talk about wanting to go home or missing home, we were told that we were required to run and tell on the person saying they wanted to go home. If you got into trouble and got a pink slip they made you run a mile and it got longer every time, if you left the program and decided that you wanted to come back, they would literally make you dig your own 6×6 grave. Because I wasn't married to my boyfriend, I wasn't allowed to talked to him, have pictures of him, write his name on my mirror, or even have my sister relay messages to him for me. They wanted to completely cut me off from him saying "if he loved you, he would have married you already." In conclusion; people need to talk through their problems, sometimes they miss home, and they miss people from home, and they leave abusive partners for a reason. Completely taking that from them and telling them to completely ignore their problems, that they can not express their feelings and that they can not have anything to do with someone that has been there for them through everything just because they haven't married them. You all are giving people a messed-up view of God and who he is. He wants you to be ok, clean, and sober. Not ignore your problems. This place is a CULT. One lady there actually has to live at the facility in order to stay clean and sober 😔 because she completed the program so many times and every time she left she went and relapsed, so the only way she can stay clean and sober is to live there. This isn't just my opinion, that came from her mouth. Something is missing here, people.

I’ve been with my wife for 20 yrs now bc of the Mission. The people there truly know God bc my wife was an addict and angry at the world and God removed anger, her insatiable appetite for drugs and she had taken every med offered for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and the only thing that worked was this couple that dedicated their lives to others to find peace and Love so that my wife and I could live normal lives with our children. And since my wife left 12yrs years ago we lost a very special women Mrs Mari but her husband is still in the trenches fighting the way worriers do!! Thank you Mr Jan for your love and devotion to these women. May God bless you everyday you are here bc I know you will be rewarded in heaven with the highest honor! Mr. Patrick Villanueva

I thought it was like a fairy tale. This woman was dating my dad after my mom died and she would tell me about the Mission and all the things she witnessed Jesus do for the women there. I was very skeptical because we were getting high together. The Lord started doing a mighty work in me through this time.  In a nutshell I was raised by two loving parents with 4 other siblings and our parents gave us everything they had and taught us everything they knew. They were the best they knew how to be despite their own addictions and vices. I got made fun of in school until I became a bully. I was so depressed. At 16 My mom over dosed on pills. So I just went off the deep end and really didn't care much about surviving to exist anymore. I knew I needed help. I was smoking my last cigarette before I went to hang myself. I said God if your real give me a sign to not do this. After this I started crying out to the Lord to help me. I was getting off of drugs and quit drinking and all my "friends" quit talking to me. It was hard hanging out with my family because they all did drugs. So I felt so alone. I didn't know that Satan could put thoughts into your head. By this time I was homicidal suicidal and so I was really scared. Fear is what drove me to ask God for help. I was sitting on my dads bed one day after work and I know it was God's voice that said you're going to Mission Messiah. I was like Whaaat I thought I was trippin. So I start massively researching and calling and asking questions and asking my dads gf more questions and asking her why she left ect. So I get all my ducks in a row to come and my family really doesn't understand why I want to go. You see I wore so many masks they didn't even know the real me. I didn't even know the real me. I just knew who the world liked and I didn't want to be her anymore. I knew that this was my last chance at life and happiness so if this didn't work I totally had the guts to kill myself. However! Things dynamically changed when I got here. The voices in my head stopped and I had peace for the first time in my life. I was a little skeptical on the structure and rules until I started asking God to show me the Truth in everything. Yes for the first 9 months you don't make a pay check however, I didn't even have the 500$ deposit (not a fee, based on completion you get that back) but I didn't have that and they still accepted me. I got all my toiletries, necessities(even razors to shave lol) & I didn't have to ever worry about the lights not coming on or the water being shut off. I had no worries being here for the first time in my life. So although I didn't make a "paycheck" I truly earned my keep with the cost of living here. For 12 months (Imagine that times 10+) what I can say is if it wasn't for the staff, volunteers, and their obedience to walk out the WORD I was reading and me seeing their fruit. I probably wouldn't have completely surrendered to the Lord. Yes this program was the hardest thing in my life, yet absolutely the most rewarding. It taught me diligence, to lean on the WORD and not opinions or feelings.  It taught me how to serve others outside of myself. I had the best support needed after my dad died too. It taught me about spiritual warfare because Satan is real and is out to kill, steal, & destroy us. The last but not least it taught me that what Jesus did on that cross took everything that hindered me from being who I was created to be. A mighty woman of valor. I now live from that victory not constantly trying to find one.  It isn't the Berryhill's "business" This is the Lord God Almighty's house. They are just stewards of it. Guess what? They are sinners saved by grace too. God used this place to absolutely teach me and show me how much He loves me. Yes even by having a curfew and pulling weeds. It's all about perspective and I'm thankful I had a place like this to teach me everything my two parents didn't know how to. I'm thankful I had a safe place to become vulnerable to the Lord. I'm thankful they loved me even when I couldn't love myself.
