  Visited with my husband today to see our daughter welcomed as a new member and also her sing during worship on stage. Everything was great till the end! To our amazement we hear a line of deacons on stage declaring, the pastor we had just heard speaking, unfit and they wanted to remove him. At this point cries of disapproval over the deacons statements start coming from the members and yelling and screaming banter back and forth from the stage and the audience! People start walking out and yelling out as they exit. We felt caught in a crossfire on a day that should have been happy for us. We were simply visiting and we never should have witnessed what we saw today! This is something the church body should do in a special meeting outside of the normal service. Instead visitors had to see the seams come apart because these deacons felt it necessary to air their dirty laundry in the presence of everyone including visitors. Pretty sure Jesus didn’t feel the love in this onslaught either. How very sad 😢

  My Daughter-in-law and I visited last Sunday to check it out to see if it would be a good church family for us and the rest of our family. No one spoke to us or welcomed us - AT ALL!! One person said "Hi" as we passed, but no one else seemed to notice 2 people looking lost. My husband and I, along with my son and his family just moved to Canton and we don't even know a single person! At my former Church-home, we had greeters that welcomed EVERY person - not just the people that they know. Every member was encouraged to be on the lookout for an unfamiliar face and make them feel welcome. Our wonderful pastor also would mingle with the crowd before service and personally greet as many people as he could, ESPECIALLY new ones. At Lakeside, the message was good and the music was ok, but I felt invisible. I guess I thought all churches were like the one I left behing.

  When Mary and I visited Lakeside and were greeted by numerous people and then was invited to attend a Sunday school class, we knew we had found a new church home since moving to Ben Wheeler. We are now new members at Lakeside.

  It’s a nice church. Community leaves something to be desired if you’re new to Canton, but then again everyone knows everybody in Canton so. Is definitely a nice place to worship on Sunday ❤️

  Lakeside Church is a good family-oriented Church to attend in Canton Texas. I have friends that live in Canton and I have been stood there at the church. But I no longer live in Canton so enjoy when you go
