I visited Lakepointe Church for the first time today, and the experience was… interesting. First, the greeting and hospitality are next-level. I can’t overstate how nice and welcoming everyone was. Mark met my family at our car, walked us inside, and showed us around. From there, no fewer than a dozen people welcomed us, some even with hugs. Everyone was genuinely kind, but the sheer volume of friendliness bordered on feeling a bit cultish. The dress code is casual, which I appreciated. The service itself, though, was unlike anything I’ve experienced before. The worship music is contemporary and very well done, the musicians and singers are undeniably talented, but the volume was extremely LOUD. Loud to the point where my ears nearly hurt. It almost felt like the volume was cranked up in hopes of pushing the Holy Spirit into your soul through your ears. What surprised me most was learning that the satellite campuses are essentially viewing venues; the sermon comes from Rockwall and is shown on three massive screens. To me, this felt impersonal, and it seemed like maybe the church tries to overcompensate for that dynamic with exceptionally warm greeters and staff. I also found all the “Text NEXT to 40177,” “Text WORSHIP to 40177,” “Text BAPTISM to 40177” prompts to be a bit gimmicky. Despite all of that, I really like Josh Howerton’s teachings, and the people truly were kind. But overall, I don’t think Lakepointe is the right fit for my family. If I’m going to watch the sermon on a screen, I’d rather do that from home—and save my eardrums in the process.

My first time to Lake Point church today for the Easter service.. it was amazing. I felt at peace. Absolutely delighted with my visit today on the holy day of Easter. I loved the word for pastor & The songs were beautiful. Great people and welcoming everybody as a known person. Thanks to my friend Charles Musila who invited me to be part of the service today. I would love to know more about God.

Highly recommend this church if you are looking for a welcoming place! Worship music is contemporary, the pastor preaches directly from the Bible but breaks it down to understand and how it applies today, and there is free coffee! Plenty of parking as well. There’s a nursery and kids ministry so if you have kids, they will be taken care of as well. Services are Sunday at 9:30a and 11a. Then Spanish services are after that! Come check it out!

This church is incredibly LOUD, (even if one steps out from the auditorium)-the decibel level is so loud you have to repeat yourself to check your kids in. This was our first time here and my 7 year old said, mom this is so loud you can hear the sermon outside. The pastor said he gets a lot of comments on how loud it is and the Bible said to yell out the word. I dont think God meant that literally. What about people with infants, the elderly or autistic community who have sensory issues? Lowering the volume just a notch would create a more inclusive space for all people. Interestingly enough, I did not see many from this population group here.

It was a nice, friendly church. This campus is one of many across the US, and the message was seen on screen as the pastor was out of state. This makes it great for people who stream services. I'm a little old fashion.....like my pastor present.

Have only visited a few times. It is a bit far to attend regularly. People seem friendly. Worship and the word are very good. I personally prefer a longer worship time.

I love Lakepointe. I began coming to this beautiful church my freshman year in high school, through a program at our school called YoungLife. From the moment I walked in. I just felt so welcomed. The people were so humble and kind. I remember being a little scared going to a church I've never even seen, but as I continued to go, I am pleased to call it home. I accepted Christ shortly after getting plugged in our student ministry. I love it here. I love my youth group and our leaders. You don't realize how great of an impact they are until you begin to see so much change in your life, for the better, of course. You truly strengthen your relationship with Christ, not only in life groups, but the service is breath taking. Each song one sings during worship is honestly amazing and one clicks into that connection that ties onto the message once it begins. love my church and I encourage anyone and everyone to tag along with us. Take a look for yourselves.

Yah they have child care, a coffee shop and an awesome band and many other ways to show you that you are HOME WELCOME and we hope you come as you are and stay a while.
