I’ve been coming to this wonderful place for over 17 years as a part of a women’s quilting group. The hosts do their best to make us feel welcome and part of their family. The grounds are extensive and offer plenty of room for a leisurely stroll and activities for kids. The camp is also home to a wide variety of animals (mostly rescues), including horses, bison, deer, goats, donkeys, pigs, bears and others. The photos don’t do it justice!

Our church has a retreat here every year - this is the best Christian Camp in East Texas. Wonderful staff, clean and comfortable accommodations, well-cared for grounds, and neat place for your kids. The rescue animal area makes for a fun evening walk, and our kids almost always come away from the camp with some new Jan-Kay merch from the General Store. I highly recommend Jan-Kay if you're looking for a good place for a retreat or year-round camp!

Went here back in 2015-2016. I was bullied by the other campers. Made only 1 or 2 friends, but I don't talk to them anymore. Most of the other campers were very hoity toity, often giving me dirty looks. I didn't like the fact that we were forced to go to church service 2-3 times a day. We were not allowed to sit out, even if we didn't feel well (same went for scheduled activities). Absolutely hated how early we had to wake up and go to bed. Horseback riding was the only thing I somewhat enjoyed (other than the food they served), but I didn't like the fact that I couldn't even trot or gallop because it was considered "too fast". A lot of the caged animals they had looked to be either in destress or experiencing heat exhaustion. You'd think with the amount of money this place makes, they'd at least be able to provide better habitats for them. Long story short, my parents payed hundreds of dollars for me to get bullied, humiliated, pushed around, and have very little fun. If you are the least bit different from your basic copy and paste, neurotypical person, I wouldn't recommend going here.

The place is well maintained and managed professionally. The activities I participated were mostly outdoors in a section separate from the zoo. Yes they have am awesome zoo. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Awesome place to visit with the family. I recommend Jan-Kay Ranch to my family and friends as well as people I have met that are new to the Paris area.
