At almost the geographical center of Texas, just north of Austin, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), an international religious organization that began in the Philippines in the early 20th century, opened the doors to the recently renovated 312-seater worship building at 510 E. Jasper Drive, Killeen during a special worship service on Aug 25. The Local Congregation of Copperas Cove, which serves the Fort Hood – Killeen – Copperas Cove corridor, purchased the property from the Global Mission Baptist Church in 2012. In February 2018, needed renovations began and, as proof of meticulous planning and oversight, the renovations were completed in May of this year – just three months later.
