I have been to this church twice in the last two days. Yesterday (Saturday) I was invited to join a faith-based workshop, and today (Sunday) I attended a morning worship service followed by an adult Bible study session. I must say that my experiences at this particular church have been extremely moving, educational and spiritually rewarding. The church campus is large, welcoming and extremely beautiful, but the best part by far in my opinion are the people. Everyone that I have met thus far has been unbelievably kind, compassionate and authentic. Big shout out to Galen, John, Chuck, Elijah, Derrick, Kathi, and Jacob, for making me feel at home even though I am just a stranger off the street. I greatly look forward to future experiences here at Houston Northwest Church as continue growing closer to God. God bless and good journey!

I reached out to the church because I wanted my husband and I to volunteer with Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine this year and this church was the nearest one that was hosting in Houston. I volunteered with NTS in East Texas years ago and it was a wonderful opportunity and missed doing it so we were initially was excited. The sign up process was easy and convenient. Upon arriving and walking through the doors, the staff wasn’t the friendliest. I understand technical issues happen, but the first impression wasn’t great. For the church to have hosted this event many times, you would have thought it would have been more organized and professional, which it wasn’t. There were people cutting in front of us to get our volunteer shirt. People were staring at my husband and I; he’s legally blind and I’m African American. We experience more hospitality in New York than here. The training didn’t start on time (30 minutes late). The staff hosting the training was “I” heavy during the presentation. She claimed she has a great team of leads for the evening but they should have been the ones speaking to break up the conversation. It would have been productive if we would have broken up into our individual teams after the welcome presentation to make the most of our time. We ended up walking out early during the video segments because I think it’s inappropriate playing “wild” secular music in a sanctuary. I also think it’s inappropriate having massage therapy sessions at event like this. I get the want for needing to be the best host of an event like this but to what extent do you draw the line. Also, the new “people first” language was a little different because my husband (having a disability) was just as confused as I was. We were excited to volunteer at NTS but didn’t want to partner with this church to make that happen in 2026. Wishing them a successful NTS. Hopefully, they take these into consideration for next year.

We love this church! Even though they were flooded during Hurricane Harvey, they have a spirit of rebuilding and staying in the community. Have a great Pastor, a great staff, lots of home life groups to choose from. They have a wonderful mens Ministry, women's ministry, plus great missions. Two worship services to choose from, it's a casual environment and they preach the Bible and the truth of Gods word.

A welcoming church with a thriving student ministry. This church has a place for people of all ages and backgrounds. Student ministry worship is led by talented student musicians who take time out of their busy schedules to rehearse. HNW makes every effort to ensure all students have equal opportunity to participate in church sponsored events.

This is a great place. The love of God and bringing love into the community is just amazing! The kids area is fabulous, our kids now age 4-11, love it here, and the youngest started in the baby room, the ladies running that room are so amazing and have been running that room for so long. The team overseeing the kids area are superb and always have the BEST hearts! The kids love learning about Jesus and the bible!

Love this place. My family and I moved to the area and started attending the church on the regular. They have plenty of ways to reach out and help from the community, also great events to bring the family to. They preach the gospel in a way that it relates to today's society and how we can use the message Jesus gave us in today's world. Also the services that they offer to the people who are in need are phenomenal.
